firsrt question is how did you wire it up - I do not read minds so have no idea what the instructions state and whether you foollwed them.

..... but generall, the red wire is 12 V., black is 0 V and green goes to coil where it connects to points.

amplifier thingy or not, it makes no difference if you hae a coil.

presumably the engine is running?

to test the rev counter, find yourself a metal comb.

wire up red and black wires as above.
wire combto 12 V then run the green wire over the teeth - this wiull suply 12 V pulse to the counter. if you a follically challenged and do not use a comb, then tapping the green wire on 12 V should show the needle deflect.

if not, chances are rev counter is dead.

the instruction say that the red wire is for the light and green is earth for the light, the black wire is earth for the rev counter and teh yellow wire goes to the postive coil and then it shows it going to the dizzy, and the bule wire goes to the neagtive side of the coil.

i wired it up like this apart from the wire to the dizzy as i can not.

the car is running and i am using a neagtive earth system.

i contected it to a battery and teh needle went all the way around.

thanks
