my cvh starter motor wont play ball, is it schoolboy error or am i right in thinking the following;

Description
Description

The r on the right is the live and the br is earth? I was told that you could test it by hooking the live up to the battery and striking an earth to see if it turns?

Soz bout picture size by the way!

can't see your picture but most startes make earth via the body.

if yours has solenoid on, then there is fat wire for motro current and a lesser wire that goes to igntion barrel.

but since I am not familiar with pinto nor can see your photo, don't tkae it as given.

Red wire to battery, earth cable to battery earth, small wire connected to live battery terminal will switch on motor

Holy Crap!

Could you not make the picture a bit bigger???

Cleaning and de-rusting the starter terminals might help too

As above:

Large terminal = fat permanent live
Small terminal = switched live to activate solenoid and make starter run
Starter body = Ground
