Alternator wiring - Ford 2G, advice required please!

I'm looking to wire in my alternator I've identified the alternator as a Ford 2G. Its on a Ford 302 V8 - identified from this link http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=63

Trouble is, I don't have the right connectors & I dont' really understand this wiring diagram...... what does 'hot in run' mean?? Is this a ballast resistor & if so what sort???

Is there a source in the UK for these connectors??

What type of 'fused link' should I use??

suspect its an americanism for live with ignition on or engine running, most charge warning systems are ignition controlled

a photo of the backside ofthe alternator would help. most likely it will be similarto one we can get overthis side of the pond and may even have labelled tereminals.

just a word of warning about these alternators, i have gone through 5 of these type on my mustangs in about 6 years. everything from bearings going, regulators blowing apart, regulators failing allowing 18v, and at the weekend the internals where the black/orange wires (to bat) come out of the alt burn out leaving a pile of ash inside the alt .
luckly it never spread setting the car on fire
take my lead and fit a different type of alternator

thanks for the info, if I get a load of trouble with this alt I'll probably follow your lead & fit something more modern.

Since posting I've learned that a 'fusible link' is essential for the safe operation of these units, have you had to replace a fusible link in your setup?

the fuseable link has been ok its always the alts thats gone before anything else
