High level brake light
907 - 13/8/07 at 08:14 PM

or perhaps on a seven it should be called a Medium level brake light.

Since I don't plan to roll my car over (touch wood), I thought I'd find a use for that thick lump of pipe
that up till now is only used for pushing the car in and out of the garage.

So that length of Sch 40 is now called a High Level Brake Light Mounting Bracket.

Now to blind those tailgaters.

No idea Steve & Dave

They were on a stand at a car show about 4 years ago. (£18)

I thought, "I'll need one of those in a month or two."

Little did I know.

I bought my very similar looking one from Premier Wiring for about £30.

I got mine from ESP Plastics.

Came with a mounting bracket that is curved to fit a roll bar.

Want to screw it to the rollbar and run the cabel inside but am concerned it will weaken the bar

Very nice finish.... but I'd be extra careful driving now!! The roll bar integrity is going to be seriously diminished....

I take your point Ben, but I have a greater fear of being rear ended.

The pipe wall is 3.25mm and after cutting the slot I welded in some 30mm strip
that I shaped to fit around the light unit to stiffen the edge of the slot.
This made a sort of "letter box" that the light is slotted into.

I agree, it still weakens the pipe though.
