Just been positioning my loom, and it's fairly easy , for the most of it, but i have a few loose ends, so to speak,
1:- radiator fan switch,
should this go to the switch in the rad.
2:- rad fan,
i'm geussing to the fan motor itself.
3:- side stand switch,
do i need to bridge the wires.
4:- one wire to a neutral switch,
dont even know what this is.
5:- fuel pump relay,
already have a bike pump fitted at the tank, do i need to bother with it.
6:- ignition feed,
can i come off my old pinto ignition wire straight to the starter relay, and ,what is the simplest way to fit 100ohm resister.
7:-starter motor feed,
there is this big black wire coming off the starter, is this a earth wire.
Any help would be great

1: Depends how you want to wire the fan really!
2: See above
3: Needs either shorting or bridging with a resistor to fool the ECU into thinking the stand is up.
4: Should go to the clocks (if using them) to let you know you're in neutral, a very important safety factor IMO, as it stops you ramming in into
the garage wall!
5: Again, depends upon whether you want to run a relay for the pump or just direct.
6: Yes, straight to the relay for the starter. No idea about the 100 ohm resistor though, what's it for?
7: Big positive cable to out going side of starter relay for this one, the engine is the earth.
ZX9R, i have been told that a resister is needed.
Mmm, wouldn't want to say either way on that one, as it may affect the ecu some how. You could always try it with and see what happens, as the relay just needs to see 12V to trigger.
if you join the thin grey wire to the thick brown ignition switch wire then cut the grey wire and solder in a resistor between the cut ends and cover
with heatshrink. job done (i presumed the colours are the same as my zx10r)
its used as a anti hot wire device and lowers the voltage the ecu see's on this wire

ditto above, 100 ohms into the grey wire to the ecu. Neutral switch is essential, i found it quite hard to find neutral even with it! I ditched the fuel pump relay, as i already had an ignition fed pump wired in seperate.
Wire off starter is + and go's to the starter relay on the loom (which you might aswell use, also I left the fuel oumo relay in and just extend
the wire to the pump, I'm fairly sure the pump only runs under engine cranking and when actually running

So what's the resistor do then?
i have no idea! But everyone says its needed, and it never did me any harm having one.
The resistor is built in to the Kawasaki ignition lock and the ecu checks for it to stop the bike wires being cut and hotwired. It won't start
without one, I tried it. If you still have the Kawasaki ignition block connector the resistor goes between the white and grey wires. I soldered it
into a piece of wire with a spade connector on each end and loop the wire to the brown as well

I am using the ford ignition switch, so i do not have the switch from the bike loom, so how do i get past this problem.
just put the resistor into the grey wire. Pete's explaination makes perfect sense, thanks for that
