Anyone got a simple wiring diagram for the EDIS system?
I have all the parts individually bit don't know where they go.
Steve
I presume you need it for megajolt install?
check here Linky
Diagrams under tech info..

Its not too detailed, no colours or pin numbers for the EDIS.
I also need to know which wires have the ground shielding on them.
Hi is this any help
Rescued attachment edis4ew.gif
Here some more detailed pictures:
This shows the connections on the EDIS module (including shielding):
And overall:
The Molex plug should look like this:

There should be all the info you require on that diagram, main point to remember is to only earth the shields at the Edis mounting , there should be
some commoned brown wires in the donor car loom to the plug, use this same arrangement for your installation.
Paul.
Cheers guys, very helpful as usual!
I've just inspected the wire from the VR sensor and while it has some kind of shield round it with a little yellow label saying 89.9 it doesnt
appear to be metallic and there is no connection to earth, its in one complete length from the sensor to the engine harness connector.
Its as it came off the car and I unwrapped all the tape and what not to get to it.
Normal??
I wired up the VR sensor with normal non shielded wire for an initial test run and it worked fine. I think this question has come up before and its
regarded best to use some kind of shielding (and as paulf said only earth it at one end) Audio cable usually fits the bill.
IIRC my EDIS module earthed all shielding to one pin (7?) I may be wrong though.
CalvinX is the Megaman around here, thoughts Mark?
Iain
Normally the cable has a braid in it , ive not seen one without but have heard of other people having the same thing.
If you have the loom complete then if it is shielded the shield will be earthed to pin 7 on the edis along with the cable from the edis to ford ecu
which will now be the pip and saw connections to the megajolt.
It may well work ok without a sheild, remember to use resistor type plugs as these considerably reduce interference from the ignition circuit.
