I'm looking at buying some of Premier wirings 110mm bottom mount headlamps.

Has any one else used these and passed SVA? Are they considered SVA friendly?

Probably not...if they are the same as the GTS ones then a few people have failed SVA with them.

Have a look in my archive (on the car). I have the 5 3/4" budget lamps with a nut at the bottom. I have put one of those nut covers over them both.
I just hope that is enough for sva.

Basically they need the correct beam pattern. The ideal lights are E marked and have an arrow that points to the right (to the verge) when you are looking into the light indicating the direction they dip in. However if the lights arent marked then the SVA man will test them to make sure they have the right beam pattern. IIRC the problem with the 4" ones is that although you can modify them to dip to the left, they have no horizontal beam cutoff so they fail...

"Very compact headlamp unit e-marked takes H4 halogen bulb c/w s/lt."

So if they are E marked does this mean they are deffo ok?

No, they might be e-marked for bikes which is what the 4" ones are I think. You also need to know what other markings are on the light.

It tells you what all the markings should be in the sva manual i think.

£25/pair is a very nice price, are they reasonable quality?

As for the 110mm ones, a bloke was asking about SVA while I was at the premier stand at Stoneleigh and the answer was something along the lines of 'I haven't heard of any problems' which didn't sound like a confident yes. They are very nice looking though.

They are good for the money. They have integral side lights that means that I do not have to install more lamps!

Bought mine at donnington about 2 years ago. They had left hand pattern only, but the online ones may have different lenses.

To put the record straight:
The lights above in the post from iank
were fitted to my car and presented for SVA.
I had twisted the lense in the housing so that the "kick up" was in the box area on the beam setter.
The inspector failed them because there was no horizontal cut off as stated by Flak.
This all happened at Chelmsford VOSA.
Gillingham VOSA are not so fussy.
I know of at least 3 cars that have passed there with these lights.
My inspector said that had I left the beams flat and not twisted them as long as the hot spot of the beam did not come above the red line on his beam setter he would have passed them as British American headlights which do not have a "kick up" to the left.
I took no chances with my re-test and borrowed a set of Westie lights from a mate.
