Anyone know what terminal is what on this Alternator. It's off a Suzuki Vitara.

Many thanks

It is denzo yes.

The big one is the main output.

The three connection on the plug are one for the dash light, one for the field exciter and one additional output.

Sorry I do not know which is which but could look some time this week.

The exciter wire needs to be live with the ignition on but not while cranking the engine. This may be a problem as alot of cars only have a combined exciter and indicator light wire.

I'm not sure what the second output wire on the plug is for but I tested it through on my toyota loam and it connected to the main poer output wire that connects on to the big bolt.

Thanks Rusty but it's not a Denso, it's a Mitsubishi. Have a look HERE towards the bottom, its the same as HTSP0975.

Anyone know which connector is which?

Cheers
Chris

top one is not used, left one is Ignition, and one on the right is the warning lamp.

and the studded terminal is the B+ (battery)

Thanks Kevin and welcome aboard!

I have seen that configuration on a Denso alternator HERE, is it coincidence that its the same for a Mitsubushi one or is that where you got your information from? Don't want to appear to be doubting your wisdom but I would like to have some level of confidence before connecting it up wrongly!

Thanks again,
Chris

I think that must be a standard Jap type conector as out unit is off a toyota.

Just a note about the ignition connection on our engine it is def only connected to the ing 2 ie not powered while cranking.

NS Dev - 21/3/06 at 03:36 PM

surely ign 2 is on while cranking or the engine won't start as the coil is usually off ign 2?

A bit late I know but I'll post it anyway

Has anyone got a connector to fit this plug? Rescued attachment Alternator3.jpg
