For visibility reasons I'd like a central rear LED brake light mounted on the roll bar.

Anyone know of somewhere selling a good looking/ok priced exterior LED strip for this purpose?

Other than that what cars (currently sitting in breakers ) have them that are exterior usage and can readily be mounted on the roll-over bar?

3 different ones on the SVC site, under 'other lights' about 1/4 way down the page. Between £24 and £40.

S-V-C had some at the restoration show last Oct, priced @ 22GBP. These lights are from the earlier (I think!) MGC. You will need to make a suitable housing, although SVC's supplier produces one in CF (or CF lookalike stuff), at a non-locost price!!

Gotta visit nearest MG showroom.

Have also noticed some potentially suitable rear lights fitted to convertible Astra's, and the larger GM/Vauxhall (is it the Omega?).

Stupid boy!!! "MGC" should read "MGF".

James, the one i used was out of a Honda from scrappy, cost a whole "one" pound. If you ever saw it it was mounted in the roll bar with the lense flush and the wires running up the inside out of the way, never had no water malfunctioning probs.

Theres some nice ones in the likes of motorspares and motor world etc..

I got this on ebay for £8, not sure how much they are new ? but all works and is carbon effect, gonna fix it under the rollbar and run wiring through it..

Jon... we were going to do this. However, we were looking for a model that you could easily remove for bulbs or LED's. I can't see a method of fixing on your's, could you share some info as to how you held it in. Did you use silicon around the edges... then cut to replace?

its just got plastic springy clips on side, bit like a electrical connector, never had to get it out but it would come out if teased with a small screw driver. The tricky, well not too tricky bit was fileing the sides to replicate the honda housing size for size.

infact if you look at first pic you can see its in vice on bench along with a couple of files.
