Morning guys,
Just a couple of jobs left to finish off the engine transplant (1.8 Zetec), one is the oil pressure sender. Is that a single connector on the sender
running straight to the gauge? We did try that but the gauge just shoots straight round to 90psi. Gauge worked fine with the Crossflow so I'm
assuming it's still OK. Any ideas?
are you using the low pressure warning switch as fitted as standard to the engine or have you swapped over your pressure sender?
If you are using the zetec sender then it will not work with your gauge. The sender on the zetec is just a switch and will on be on or off depending on the oil pressure. you need your old sender off the cross flow as this will give out a range of signals depending on oil pressure.
Thanks guys, that explains a lot, I'm just using the standard sender, trip to eBay methinks

I can find lots of Ford oil pressure switches but none to run a pressure guage except on from Burton, 'REVOTEC OIL PRESSURE SENDER 1/8NPT',
is that the jobby I'm looking for (and is there anywhere cheaper to get one)

Whats the make of the gauge? Try to get one to match that or buy a matching pair!
Most of the gauges are VDO but the oil pressure has nothing written on it that I can see
have you not still got the sender unit what was fitted to the xflow when you say it worked ok? should be the same standard thread between xflow and zetec.
No, sender went with the Crossflow
Guys,
Need a bit of help with this.
Lots of these sender units are advertised as 'standard fitment 1/8 NPT' is this the correct one for a Zetec?
Also some senders have 2 terminals, others have one, what's the difference.
