Multi Plug Connector
mistergrumpy - 12/2/10 at 05:43 PM

Does anyone know where I can get a 7 way variant of this connector? There doesn't seem to be a standard name for them which makes it hard to search. This picture's from Maplin but theirs are too small and they don't have 7 pins. I've tried RS components website and it's a bit of a minefield but I don't think they have them either.

trailer plugs?

or 2 of your 5 way ones, but male and female opposite ways round (so you can't plug them into the wrong ones)

looks like the one for a mic on a 2 way radio, just checked a couple of mine and they are 4 way,can you use 2 plugs?

The pins are arranged differently than on a microphone plug. They are kind of like this
. .
. . .
. .
Equally spaced though, the pictures not showing right on here

R-Tech 7 pin

Them RS ones have the wrong hole pattern.
Them's the exact ones on Ebay. If only someone in Britain sold them now!

For $6 I would risk buying them from China
..... or just pay £139 for the R-Tech footpedal

One other thought, can you get crimp socket pins to suit the existing plug on your torch and adapt that?

you'll get them from RS, its just a case of going through their website, which is wee poor for searching for stuff...

mistergrumpy - 14/2/10 at 04:44 PM

I'll give the Ebay a go then.
RS might sell them but as you say Blake the sites a bit pish and when I went to the store there were 5 huge catalogues and some cashiers who didn't know so forget them. There loss....of a few quid

blakep82 - 14/2/10 at 04:46 PM

eh? i never said wee poor.... lol
