Indicator/headlamp switch. Which one is best to use?
cosmick - 6/2/10 at 01:39 PM

I want to fit a single sided column switch to the steering column to control Horn, Indicators, Headlamps etc. I am not running wipers so just want to have a switch on one side doing the lot. I seem to remember that there was a thread about this and i thought it was using a Renault Clio switch or similar. Can anyone help please?

Is this the thread? Renault 19 was suggested, maybe the Clio uses the same (many manufacturers share them between ranges)

renault clios has this.

Lights, horn, indicators all at the same switch.

Most Renaults prior 1998 should have the same system.

I you go for a Laguna MK1 one, you can control the fog lamp as well.

Forgot to add, You might need to get the whole column of a clio so it is nice and fit.

If you want a picture, I wan take one from my Steering wheel, column, switches which could be for sale as well for the right money.

I am helping a friend do his car. I am really pleased with the way the Fiesta Mk3 column controls worked out on my car but his one will have no wipers so I want to keep it nice and neat and simple. Any pics of the Renault unit fitted would be great. Cheers for the replies so far.

Cosmick.

A fog light switch included would be even better if there is one available from the Laguna.

I will post pictures of the Clio one and the laguna later tonight.

Thanks I0rd the Laguna one looks like it will fit the bill nicely as it has the Fog Light built in as well. Is it easily wiredup? do they have the round type terminals that will take the female push on connectors or did you get a small piece of Laguna harness?

The laguna picture is off electronic bay.

I do not have a clue. I believe that it should be spade terminals?

The best thing to do is the scrappy to get the loom out of one.

There are lots of renault staks around. quite a few have horn, lights, pull for main/dip/flash, fog and indicators.

I got this one for £5 on ebay.

10 mins with a multimeter mapped out the pins, so nothing too taxing. I'll try to find my drawings again.

Pins are about 4mm wide. I think there is just about enough gap between them to use standard spade connectors.... but I've not done it yet, so can't be 100% sure.

...another job I really must get around to doing !

Could they be 4.8mm? That's a standard, though not the most common, size for spade terminals.

just checked the pins - they are 3mm, with 2mm gap between.

I think some hifi speaker connectors are about that size?

2.8mm are also a 'standard'

Hi all,
I going to use the stalk off a laguna very compact and has all functions in one unit, also cheap loads on e-bay.
If anyone has the wiring for the switch I would be grateful save me a bit of time and swearing working it out !!
