Type 9 reverse switch
cd.thomson - 26/1/10 at 12:01 PM

I don't think my t9 has a reverse switch fitted. Could someone point me in the direction of where it should be?

On a side note I'm probably after one along with a handbrake switch and the sierra horn switch (fitted in conjunction with the copper ring- not needed) if anyone has them lying about!

You can see mine in this pic. Next to the p clip on the cable

You can have the one thats in there as well if you need one. I have no need for it.

That would be ace David, do you not use reverse?! I will u2u you later once i've double checked but I'm sure I only have a cable speed drive on that side, no terminals. I guess it's a screw in jobby.

the switch is only for reverse lights! it doesn't actually select reverse!

Haha yes I know! But for MOT and all that, don't you need a working reverse light?

flak monkey - 26/1/10 at 12:16 PM

Nope, no legal requirement for a reversing light.

Need a reversing light to pass IVA however

blakep82 - 26/1/10 at 12:30 PM

^ yep. silly isn't it?
need one for IVA, didn't need one for sva, and don't need one for MOT

BUT if a reversing lamp is fitted it MUST be working for mot

I know its digging up an old thread, but just to say in case anyone is using this thread as reference, thats not true, the reverse light is not checked at MoT, fitted or not.

Don't need heater or demisters for MOT but you do for IVA. lots of random things like that
new euro requirement for tyre pressure sensors apparently wonder if it will be added to IVA. (Unless its april fool)
