Alternator identification help / wiring
r1_pete - 28/12/09 at 04:39 PM

Can anyone identify this alternator?

Or tell me what the two spade connectors are for, the main battery screw connection is pretty obvious, but what do the other two do? one must be the warning light, but which one? and what does the other do?

Any help greatfully received.

Looks like mine which if my memory serves me correctly is a kubota tracktor one.

Might have the wiring diagram somewhere...

Chris

Sorry mine has 3 spades........ There is a thread on here somewhere from Flakmonkey I think which has some details on the Kubota alternators.....

alot of alternators have a 'tacho' connection so it could be for a tacho

Thank You, one of the links in Flak's post has a wiring diagram showing an identical alternator to mine.

2nd spade is for a 12v switched reference feed.

correct.

it is identical to my one, albeit the main post terminal is slightly different.

one wire goes to charge lamp, the other is switched live (required else the alternator won't charge).

if you need to know which is which, then lemme know and I'll go out into the cold to look. Rescued attachment DSC04787.JPG
