Right, this one has me stumped.
I has a vdo vision tach, a premier loom, and an omex 500 ecu.
ECU is setup to output revs on the aux wire, which is hooked up to the signal in of the tach.
All good so far, but the tach appears to move with the throttle, which would be fine, but it does it when the engine's not running, which
isn't so good.
So, I'm figuring the ECU is evil, or I need to fettle the tach, and I don't understand the manual. (especially the bit attached)
Any ideas?

if set the then the auxiliary output will produce a tacho pulse for every timing event. Note that the Tacho will show 3,800 rpm if the engine is stopped and the throttle is at TPS min if Tacho is set. This is a TPS setting aid.
Cheers, that sounds sensible, so I'll have a play.
Not been able to check properly with engine running as it's a bit hormonal at the moment.
