Sierra switch internals?
David Jenkins - 9/11/09 at 10:08 PM

Has anyone sketched out what connects to what inside the right-hand Sierra switch? (lights & wipers).

I'm not talking about the connectors here - I have several variations of that carefully stored away - but the schematic of the switches.

The sort of thing I'm looking for is like the relay drawing below...

I've tried using a meter to work it out, but it's beaten me...

What loom are you using? If it's an STM one there's a guide for attaching the Sierra stalks to the STM loom on my website.

Otherwise the Sierra haynes manual hose those diagrams for the switches. I thought I had that page in my photo archive but turns out it was the indicator wiring which doesn't help much...

It's my own loom, so I have to work it out for myself!

what are you trying to achieve with that relay? is t for dipped and full beam?

Sorry - the relay image was only an example of the sort of diagram I need for the sierra switch...

What I'm looking for is a diagram of what connects to what when you move the switch, so that I can design my wiring.

Something like this (which may or may not be the right one):
