Rewired matts dash at the weekend to do away with the sierra stalks and have a bit of an odd problem.
The indicators themselves work fine with ignition on.
However to get the hazards to work you need to have the indicator switch on (either left or right it doesnt matter). And they work with the ignition
on or off as they should, but you need to have the indicator switch flicked one way or the other.
Got me stumped What have I missed?
Any chance of a quick diagram showing how you think you have wired it up?
could it be that you've missed an earth and when you put the indicator on it makes the earth that the hazards need

I have been trying to work all mine out, i thought i would get a toggle on/off switch for the hazards that would have two pins at the back, but it seems there are three wires for the hazards to work.
Im only guessing, but if the hazards only work when indicator switch either left turn or right turn then you need to run a feed from the flasher relay to hazard switch.
<-------------------- Dam Wiring!
My hazard switch has 2 power feeds - one's from the switched 12v supply and the other from the unswitched side. There are also about 8 other wires!
IIRC this switch has 7 connections.
One switched live
One permanent live
One to left indicator
One to right indicator
One to pin 49a on relay
One to another pin on relay
One to dash warning light - which i havent connected to anything...
I will however have to consult the destructions which came with it to double check!

I used one of the CBS hazard kits recently, has its own relay and is dead simple to use. Too late in this situation I realise, but might help someopne
else who hasn't tackled that part yet.

I'll bet as soon as you draw a diagram of what is actually there you will see what the problem is
