Has anybody mounted their alternator at the front of the engine and ran it backwards if so any pics.
i am using a dohc sierra so not alot of room to mount the alternator in the correct position lol.

Shouldn't be an issue though as depending on which side of the belt you have the pulley against (one sides going up the other down...) the alternator will be turning the normal direction even facing the engine.

You can use a double sided drive belt instead like this, which will allow you to mount the alternators pulley on the ‘outside’ of the belt

The altenator will generate quite happily spinning either way.

The fan however may not be quite as efficent running backwards. You may be able to source a fan for reverse rotation though.

Some later alternators have a sprag clutch or freewheel in the pulley and can not be driven backwards.

A lot of Honda engines run backwards anyway(B series is one), putting one of them on facing the engine would mean it would be running in the correct direction..
