Side repeater position..?

Is there any measurements needed (re SVA) as regards mounting my side repeaters? don't know wether to mount them in the scuttle or side panel?

dont know about sva measurments but mine are mounted in scuttle about 1 inch up from where the scuttle meets the side panel and it passed without problems

However, I think, there is an exception for 7's in the manual.

Mine are in the scuttle too BTW.

I put mine on the scuttle as most other MNR cars are but looking at many MK pictures they are on the side panels.

Personnal preference I would think.

Mine are on the scuttle. Mr SVA just seemed to look to see if they flashed.

I believe that there is a note somewhere in the SVA manual saying that 'seven' style vehicles are exempt from the repeater positioning rules or at least from the rear visibilty angles part anyway

Please correct me if I'm wrong however!

Scuttle for me as well.

Surely this help with them being seen from the front..... Wouldn't want them too low or you may have to move them up.......

i thought the footnote for Seven type vehicles applies to cycle wing mounted indicators, which only need pass the field of view test in the straight ahead position.

Just mount them where it's easiest and they're clearly visible and you shouldn't have a problem at SVA.

Side repeaters and MOT.

Can anybody confirm the following logic works:-
As i'm on a Q plate, and therfore tested as a 1975(?) car - which doesn't need side repeaters?
That I don't need them to pass an MOT?

If its anything like it was for my TR6 if you have them fitted they may be tested and have to work. ie . Although my TR6 wasn't fitted with hazard light circuit because one had been retro fitted it formed part of the test.

There is some latitude allowed as the side of the car is not the outside edge which is usually a line between the front and rear wings.

Only emmissions for SVA are tested to 1975 the rest of the car is tested to SVA pass date.
Side indicators for SVA on a 7 type kit are given a great deal of freedom but do need to be fitted.
Mine passed about 3" down from the bonnet side edge 4" over the exhaust manifold exit hole
