just replaced my rectifier cos it was getting really hot with one from a 1000RR, as i heard somewhere that this would be o,k they both have 3 yellow wires,both have a green wire and both have a red wire, but just wondered would it matter which order you put the three yellow wires in

No they are just the three phase input, all the same.
