Lambda bung welding question

My weld on bung looks too long...

where should I cut it and how much of the sensor should be inside the exhaust tube?

should I weld the bung on to the exhaust or into the exhaust tube ?

Thanks..

That looks like the standard mild steel ones that Innovate ship out with their LC-1 units. I think having the probe slightly out of the main "draft" isn't a bad thing. One thing that kills probes is water droplets hitting the hot internals (it cracks them, even with tiny amounts of water). Having the probe slightly out of the main flow will protect it a bit (I guess it might slightly delay the readings, but at £50 a probe, I know which option I would choose).
