Show me your GSXR throttle bodies
I have just purchased a rather nice set of K4 GSXR 1000 bodies for a knock down price from my marra coozer (cheers Steve)
What have you peeps done for filtration/air box, given that they dont come with any trumpets as such.
Many thanks,
Andy

Heres some I did a while ago - home-made carbon trumpets
GSX600 throttle bodies
For a filter these are then bonded to the backplate
Crossflow bodies
And then finished off with a carbon airbox

im using my GSXR750 throttle bodies as a 8 injector set up with a pipercross back plate and the orignal trumpets. Does the K4 not have separate
trumpets you can use with a filter back plate?

What are you using to control the additional injectors?

Here ar emine. Nearly finished just got to sort out air filter and inlet trumpets.
I really want to use a Pipercross airbox, I reckon it would fit under the bonnet, the thing is they are so expensive to buy to find it won't fit.
I will probably put a panel filter on to begin with.

Andy,
Presumably if you buy a "complete GSXR1000 K4 Airbox" from you know where, then it will have the appropriate trumpets.
Sometimes they have 2 short and 2 long ones, in which case you can either buy two airboxes, or duplicate the Suzuki design.
www.alpha-sports.com is good for parts diagrams, like this one:
These trumpets are nice, because they will seal to a sheet of material with a hole in it (i.e. that is how they fit the suzuki airbox).

GSXR1000 has four equal length velocity stacks with slots in the circumference (apparently to smooth mid range power)
GSXR750 has two short two long velocity stacks.
Both throttle bodies are the same dimensions.
I have four GSXR1000 and two short GSXR750 stacks, if anyone want to swap for two long 750GSXR stacks...

Interestingly GSXR1000 K5 has longer in middle than sides
which seem to be similar on later models too.
Presumably when installed in an engine that revs lower, you would (assuming there is space) want the longer trumpets.
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has experimented with different trumpet lengths with the throttle bodies.
