Does anyone know if the cold start system on blackbird tbs would still be needed if running megasquirt
Do you mean the waxstat thats fed by the collant hoses?
I was possibly going to ditch the waxstat and fit a 'choke type cable' to manualy operate it if its required.....
Just wondered if all that bit could be removed as i believe MS has a cold start built in
Hi, hope im not going away from your original question here, but i was just about to post a very similar question. Is it the bit ive highlighted in
the photo? If so i was also going to ask what this bit did and if it was needed? I assume your runnning blackbird enginnes are you, ive just got
the blackbird t/b's to go on an xe with megasquirt.

Yep, Thats the bit i was takling about, its a cold start enrichment stat, allows extra air via small valves.
I'm running a Carb Blackbird engine which i'm fitting blackbird TB's & Megasquirt to (fuel only at the start using the stock bike
ignition).
Plan was to use MS1 V.3 when i get round to ordering it!
Ash.
They are throttle bodies not carbs as I can see the top of the injector, that looks like the fuel pressure regulator.
