does anyone know if its possible to set up a 2.0l DOHC to run on bike carbs?
If it is possible, is it any better/cheaper than using twin webers?
Cheers, Theo
Hi i don;t see why you cannot use bike carbs there better then webers in my opinion [ now i run for cover] i have bike carbs fitted to a pinto and i think there brill just set them up and forget them unlike webers Jacko
As an aside.why is it that Webers go out of tune?..Is it the throttle linkage or what?
I'm interested in this. I have a Vauxhall 20XE on Weber 40s which gets me around175bhp and plenty of torque. But they run a little rich between 3,000 and 4,000rpm, and it drinks fuel at an alarming rate. Would bike carbs be better? I've heard the carbs from a Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird make a good fit.
Phil i think the answer is yes i have had no trouble at all with my zx9r bike carbs god fueling ect Jacko
Having run a car on both Carbs and TBs I would suggest that when set up correctly the biggest advantage of TBs is the smoothness of the power especially at light throttle and the fuel ecconomy over carbs
Yes its possible, but you'll have to make a manifold!
