What's this do - GSXr 600 T/B Question
blockhead_rich - 25/2/06 at 06:32 PM

Hi
I have a set of GSXr 600 throttle bodies and I'm not too sure what the rubber pipes and sensor do. Wondered if they are still of use with Megasquirt?

hey rich

looks like map sensor to me. do the pipes all connect to one pipe that goes to the back of the sensor? if they do it should be your map (manifold absolute pressure)

hope this helps

The set that I have just bought have the pipes commoned and the common ends in a doohicky with a three pin socket on it. So I am also assuming that this is the map sensor.

Yep looks like MAP sensor to me.
For MS I'd just rip it off and run a pipe from the las "T" to the MS MAP sensor as we discussed earlier.

I think I'd blank it.
Anything you connect to just one TB will pulse.

Blank it, as it's on the engine side of the throttle plates you would never be able to balance the throttles, (I'm still not too sure how or if you have two as they are all linked by the tube that goes to the MAP sensor.)

By the way, I'm in the very slow process of putting a set of GSXR 600 bodies onto my 4AGE (big port) using a custom manifold but an Emerald for an ECU. I won't have Idle control, and didn't have on the old set up.
