On the tunnel in the ballast footwell.

Not upside down, otherwise the processor slowly vibrates loose from its socket, falls out and the engine stops at an inconvenient time.

Not that I have any experience of this of course....

The megajolt i mounted right way up on the ledge above the end of the passenger in a blue transparent plastic enclosure.
- The box was about 80p from maplin ans is stuck down with sealent. MJLT drops into it, all the wires tidied away under it, and it all seams to start dry.

mines under the dash too

Under the dash on the scuttle, but I've raised it on an alloy bracket to ensure if water drips down the scuttle (i've got an aeroscreen) it doesn't go on the ECU.....

ignore the photo above, dont know how that got there

Upside down under scuttle
Forward facing mount bolted to dash lowest edge

rearward mount onto a bracket that attaches to the "hoop" under the dash that MK's have

Done a few miles disaster free and chips have not rattled free from sockets...yet

Not found any photo's of it but it is visible in my youtube vids
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J16I2GJMx7M

and the Zeticky one on there

Regards
Rob

You should be able to pass a small cable tie (or two) under the bottom of the socket and around the IC to hold it in. In my last place we used this method on prototype equipment that was mounted on the bottom of an electric locomotive, plenty of vibration and they stayed in place.

Relay board is in the engine compartment on the bulkhead. ECU is in the passenger space fitted down the left side just under the dash, which gives easy access for datalogging, posting maps, etc. It's been here for over 7000 miles now.
