Last list of hardware on my EFI conversion before I buy the MS (still saving up) is a fuel pressure regulator.
ST170 engine did not have one so I'm looking at the bling adjustable type with a gauge...
Is there any benefit to paying £98.95 ex vat from
Tweeks or
£22 for one like this off the bay?
quote the add
"This high performance competition race car Fuel Pressure Regulator from Mc Gill Motorsports is a suitable for use with normally aspirated
(carburettor)"
Which dosen't makes sense as it has a 140psi gauge

I have one like that one on ebay. Not from that seller, but same as the one in the pic.
Seems to work ok. And they are rising rate too i.e you can connect a vacuum line to them and they will increase the fuel pressure as the manifold
pressure increases. IIRC they are 1:1 so for every psi increase at the vacuum port they increase the fuel pressure by 1 psi too.

Wouldnt a standard mondeo one work ? ie £2 from a scrapie
If you use the rail from a black top the port spacings should all match.
I used the Bosch cartridge insert type from an escort manifold and made a housing for it,I have seen similar units that take the inserts advertised
by demon tweeks etc with different rated regs available.Once set up it doesn't need to be adjusted again and doing so would through out the fuel
map so I just fitted it and forgot about it.

Any cheap one will do, on rover v8's you get a nice seperate one with barbed tube fittings.
With MS you map the injection, you only need these higher rate ones if you are trying to push a standard ecu on a worked over engine, increasing fuel
manually.
A few years ago I cut the back off one and inserted a screw and washer behind the spring and welded back up, hey presto an adjustable regulator for
pennies!
Spend the pennies elswhere
