In the process of converting to Megasuirt and EFI.
I currently have a low pressure pump supplying the engine bay at 6psi and a good flow rate.
instead of removing all the low pressure system and fitting a high pressure pump and return via the tunnel could I have some sort of tank / swirl pot
fitted at the front and run a high pressure pump from that.
if so what sort of container do I need.
+ the injectors run from two fuel rails as in the diagram. can I get a regulator that will work as in the diagram

The high pressure pump should feed into one end of the rail , then to the other rail , with the pressure regulator on the other end (the return to the
swirl pot)
And maybe a return from the top of the swirl tank ?

The injection system is a rover v8 thor manifold and the injectors have one feed in only as in the diagram.

What claire said.
Feed from low pressure pump goes into one side of the sirl pot
Return from rail goes via regulator to the other side entry.
Top connection goes back to tank
Bottom conntection gravity feeds high pressure pump.

The trouble is with no return to the tank from the swirl pot, there is no way for any air to get out of the swirl pot apart from the injectors.
The fuel rail does have a bleed valve to remove initial air pockets.
The main question seems to be answered, I can use a swirl pot and run a high pressure pump at the front.
May well have new fuel rails made up to form a loop system vial a reg to the return
Any ideas of the cost for two fuel rails for a RV8 flak monkey?

will keep this in mind.
Thanks

This is what I'd do and plan to do for the 4age (but with only 1 fuel rail off course)
injection

I think you can get away with a single feed to the rail although it's not ideal. Not going to be a problem when running but you will have vapour
and air problems at start-up which can only escape the rail through the injectors. Much better to have the regulator under the bonnet immediately
after the rail.
