Today's challenge is ... find circuit diagram for megajolt.

I am googling but so far no luck.

I would like to see the complete circuit diagram for megajolt, in particular the components between the micro and the EDIS unit.

ta.

do i get a prize??

I'm not sure how old this daigram is .. I think it's about 2003.

Edited to say, Oh, look it says 2003 on the circuit diagram.

HTH.

Found it on a google image search .. it's hosted on locostbuilders.

^^^^^ nope - top; that shows how to wire MJ to EDIS but as far as I can see, does not show the circuits on the MJ board.

^^^ nope, second post ; that is not what I am after either.

That is the pcb layout and component layout. At a push I could derive the circuit but that would be unnecessary effort.

I am sure it is out there .... seems I am not only one having trouble finding this info.

I'll give you one guess at the URL for version 4!

Soldering Irons at the ready !!!!

Pardon my ignorance but is it possible to perhaps buy the components shown on the circuit diagrams and identified by numbers from Maplins and, if you are then clever enough with a soldering iron, build a megajolt?

Yep. That is in many ways, basicaly, the point of the MJ.
- You can buy the board and main chip, or a full parts bag in kit form from autolabs themselfs.

Quite a few surface mount componets in the V4 but not beyond the wit of man. Have looked into doing so myself.

When I built my first megajolt I even built a programmer for the processor and burnt the code to it.Everything you need is on the megajolt site, it just takes a bit of time searching to find the correct info.

yes, but do the costing first - it is likely that the kit with parts may work out cheaper than buying the components yourself.

I don't believe Maplpins sell the mircrocontroller, but haven't look for a while.

There is also the problem that you can now only buy a complete kit, you used to be able to buy just a PCB.
I have considered building some basic units with out all of the programmable outputs as most people just use the shift light and maybe the rev limiter functions.
The original processor is now out of production and has been superceeded.
