Top news Marc. Ill have a good look at the bumper and bits when Im down and see what I can leave off until after the SVA.

I was going to go for some Fireblade mirrors as they seem to keep the men in white happy and they dont look bad post SVA.

Kind Rgds

Marc, is your cat tidy and round or one of those ugly boxes?

If it's tidy and round, may be after buying one and one of your quite cans.

Pat...

pat its round but is in mild steel, as we lend these to customers building our cars, and are only used for one day per car so looks are not an issue

mild steel catalysts are about £175 new

stainless ones are £320 new

best regards

Marc, having started a scratch build (and not very far through it) I am not entitled to your loan parts, but am fascinated by the bumper - please can you post a picture of it as this may reflect a thought I had for SVA.

any bar sticking out of the nose cone is concidered to be a bumper, I believe. The SVA inspectors put thier testing sphere on the bumber and then move it backwards keeping it at the same height. Anything that it touches must be radiused. If you don't have a "bumper" then all your suspension is open to inspection.

At my SVA, the inspector looked at my indicators on long stalks and said "most peopl mount these higher up and on longer stalks. It exempts more of the suspension from the radius check." he then demonstrated as above. He then added "you've covered everything up so you're alright."

Well, that is easy enough. Hope you don't mind me asking, but what does it mount to?
