Havent started mine yet, other than the prep of the donor parts and getting everything read for the assembly stage...

I am anticipating it being finished by 25th November 2005...

I am on "gardening leave" until 1st december except for a 10 day stint in Cairo during November...

Am going to MNR to build the car there and also with the assistance of one of their guys...

Chassis coming along, all bits sourced and piled up. I want it ready for next summer when I plan to visit the ring as a treat, not the sphincter but Nuremberg !My reward for finishing...

Then track days .... and flog the guts out of it.

I'm not building an MNR but I've nearly finished my Locost. I want it on the road before Christmas if possible. Just a few little bits to do. I'm putting off applying for the SVA for no good reason! Maybe I should just take the plunge!
Cheers

my vortx was 98% complete about a month ago, from a June kit delivery. Thankfully my exhaust is now made and ready to collect from Donnington tomorrow.

mines a rolling chassis with pretty much complete bodywork.
i went to put the engine in last week but found out I was given the wrong engine cradle..
hopefully will swap it for a correct one at donny.

in theory, i need to:
-put the engine in.
-connect all the wiring up
-plumb the engine to radiator

and it should be a fully working car.

after that, i just need extra bits like seats, seatbelts, final trim etc. however I'm not buying anything at the moment until I get some regular income.
I've given up on trying to finish at as soon as possible as the weather is getting crappy so I'm happy enough to tinker slowly over winter now and hopefully have it done for spring.

I am about 2 months away maximum once I get my exhaust Marc! All lights installed, carbon rear panel to fit, engine to wire and plumb, dash to install and tunnel cover, carbon aeroscreen to fit, seats need harness holes cutting and fitting. So wife and work permitting hoping to be on the road early next year.

Owners club sounds good. I am sure we can teach the other boys and girls a thing or too about kit cars. How about a MNR v MK shoot out?!

Mine is... delivered. For now still in parts and bits in the garage, the build will start at the beginning of 2006, as for now I'm sorting out components (assembling uprights, brakes, cleaning and checking engine and so on). I hope I'll finish somewhere around mid 2006 so it should be SVAd and registered by autumn (too many wishes but I'm being positive).

Hi I will be a Vortx owner when my kit is ready. I have lots of bits to go in so when it is my turn to pick my kit up it will be all systems go. Hope you get yours finished off so I can read your web sites to see how it is done. I think I am the only MNR builder in East Sussex.

I have tried to change it without any success.
I was going to build an Mk when I first registered here but I went to the Exeter show and they would not let me get in the car something to do with the weight of my body making the car to heavy. I hear it is a bit of a porker. So here I am still waiting for my MNR. If you can help please advise.

Can change it in control panel options...

As for the weight issue, I highly recommend Salmonella or E-Coli for fast efficient weight loss

Kitchen's finished (wife's pleased, good start)
The new garage roof is on, and the floor gets painted this weekend. The roof needs to be insulated, and some new shelving put up.

Oh and I hope to start building the car when it turns up at the end of the month. Planned finish date is May next year (depending on how bad the winter is)!!

Anyone else building an MNR in Essex?

My wife is looking forward to me setting off for Harrogate to build my car next week, as she wishes to reclaim the dining room...

Only so she can empty it, and we can start packing for Cyprus of course

If your wives ever complain, show them this picture and they will think themselves lucky...

PS. My first bit of assembly in the bottom of that shot... Toyo 888 onto OZ Superleggera rim....

Would be good if we all knew where each other is as it could help in the build. For parts or if one of us is stuck and needs a helping hand. Bryan East Sussex

I'm in Birmingham as it says to the left here. I wish there'd been someone with a VortX close by when I was building so that I could learn from their mistakes. Sadly I had to learn from my own.

The 'boat' engined powered car should be there or there abouts.

Few minor jobs to be done after I have built my exhauts i.e. spedo calibration / tune engine. Bolt seats in ( before Rog ! posts ) oh and and cure squeaking clutch leaver !!

basicly start her up and see what happens !

oh and start discussing discounts for bulk buy of fuel with local garage !
