Exhaust bracket / Mount
I will be using 2 x exhausts on my car and for long runs (With the wife) I will need the stock silencer fitting, but for thrashing around local
streets I will be fitting a regular Mirron or Art can, I have made a stainless plate to mount the 2 x different lengths of exhaust to, but what do I
use to wrap around the exhaust? I have made a stainless band, but I need some rubber for that to sit in or it will scratch my original?
Any pictures of peoples exhaust mounts would be most appreciated
Cheers
Nick

There was a lug welded to my silencer, so I made a wee L shaped bracket that bolts on underneath the car, so when I take it off you cant see the
holes

My old car, with a stainless bar rivnutted under the chassis and a standard end can clamp.
I used a mini exhaust bobbin to take out the vibration. This was fixed to the stainless plate and a nut on top through the band.

I had a similar issue but mine was that i was fitting a short decat and a long cat so the exhaust would move back for sva and forward post sva.
Simplist thing i could thing of was to make a very strong L bracket i think its 3-4mm thick and has two holes on the vertical side and is bolted to
the chassis and floor using 4 bolts that are spaced from the tub to prevent holding it too tightly. The exhaust also has a welded bracket on to mount
vertically

Exhaust Mount
My friend fabricated me the triangle section of this bracket and I welded on the two mounting plates, I am pretty happy with it. but due to the length
of the silencer, I will have to fabricate a slash cut pipe for the end of the silencer as its very close to the rear wing / tyre. I like the sound of
the original can so may indeed just keep that, plus our lass can warm her hand up on it :-)
