Thought i'd take some pics outside
in between the snow storms...

really nice to see the car outside for the first time!

still got a few jobs to do. i've not fitted the front cycle wings yet, as i want to cut them down, but the brackets come straight out.
maybe mnr do a diff type!?, i need them to be 11 and 1 oclock rather than 9 and 3

Nice! Reminds me how badly my aluminium needs cleaning!

coozer - 24/3/08 at 05:13 PM

Looks really good, how I wish my roll bar had been within the rollover of the bodywork

gr8ging - 24/3/08 at 07:30 PM

Looking good!

Makes me sad though. I wish I was that far ahead, I just haven't put the hours in I thought I would.

Hopefully you have inspired me

looking good,

do we have to guess the location of the bolt in the pasenger footwell, look like it is left in there as a reminder that it needs putting/fitting somwhere ( please dont tell me i am the only one that does this sort of thing )

Oh forgot to mention on the wheel arch bit - drop marc an email as it all depends on your combianation of uprights / cyclewings / wheel offset and wheel and tyre size.

PPS i would keep the rear of the arch as close to the ground as possible as it reduces stones / poo ( literally if you live round here )hitting you / rear arches and damaging them it also reduces water spray dreamitacally just my 2p really

Regards

Agriv8

I think what Coozer means is that he had to cut into the bodywork on the rear where it rolls over in order to accommodate his roll bar. If you check his photo archive you will see what he means

Thanks for the positive comments guys!

i do feel like i've given birth and it was a breach!

Agriv8 your right, i'll keep the rears a bit longer, it's just the front being so long i think it spoils the lines a bit.

now wheels and tyres, are you all running the same size tyre front and rear? or are you going for a little wider at the back

ps, not sure about that bolt, i think it's a wizbolt

Hi John,

Car is looking superb.

I am just waiting for my wheels to arrive then hopefully get it on it's wheels.
I have Pro Race 1.2's coming from MNR, They are supplying them with R888's, 195's for the front and 205's for the rear.

Stu.

Cheers Stu,
Thats the wheels i emailed chris for a price for today, in matt black.
also R888's 195 front and 205 back.
i'm not sure whether to go for 195 all round so i can rotate them later.
what compound did you go for? i don't really want them too soft.

stuart_g - 25/3/08 at 11:15 PM

I went for the standard package that MNR supply which is the soft compound. Chris did say that on a colder day the medium compound would be very slippery slidey.

marc n - 25/3/08 at 11:27 PM

looking good

sucksqueezebangblow - 26/3/08 at 09:12 AM

When I asked Chris what tyre combination would get me round the track fastest he replied 195 front and 205 rear. I got the 13"CXR in black (lighter and no need for big brakes on BEC) with Toyo R888s. With Marc's and Chris's experience I don't doubt the advice will be bang on!

yep, they know their stuff.
i've ordered the medium compound, as i wanna do more than 1 lap
