Headlamp mounting bar position
stuart_g - 5/3/08 at 04:43 PM

Where is the correct place for this to be fitted? Is it as far forward as possible?
I have seen a few cars with it in different positions.

Cheers
Stuart.

On my Indy I fitted it directly in line with the upper shock mounts on the chassis. Not sayin it's reight or wrong, just where I thought it looked about right. No issues at SVA.

Hey Stu,
sounds like your making great progress

i mounted mine inline with the front top wishbone mounting point Rescued attachment lightBar.jpg

Progress is slow at the moment seems like I'm spending a lot of time on the car but hardly anything getting done. I guess it goes like this sometimes.

I had planned to put the headlamp bar in this position also but I had seen pictures of it fitted further back above the suspension pushrod. I'll put it above the front wishbone mount I think.

i havent fitted mine yet... ( just waiting for more rivnuts to arrive)

but when i do fit it im going to be fitting it above the front leg of the top wishbone. in between the 2 plates welded to the tube

When mounting the headlamp bracket keep the suspension movement in mind. e.g. make sure the suspension arms can't hit the base of the headlamp or wiring.

hi stuart

i normally fix the headlamp bar so it ends up in the middle of the top wishbone, but have seen people fit them right at the front or as far back as the bonnet area

cheers
