hi
i ve just fitted my radiator and was about to fit the fan but i cant see how this is done, the only way i can see how to do this is to make up
brackets that come accross from the bushes on the radiator, but these are not in the best possition to support the fans wieght
i checked out the build manual, it looks like they have put a bolt straight through the radiator fins to secure the fan the the rad ? is this how to
do it ?, i wouldnt have thought so
cheers Finlay

you can get nylon clips a bit like zipties that will hold them on, i used them and my fan is solid, they are only about 2mm so dont cause much
disruption to the rad.
contact revotec and tell them dan from south moreton reconmended them, cost about £5 + delivery
Just use 2 zipties!!! thats what I did and still holding strong.
Stick 1 ziptie through and then put the other on the bit poking out behind the radiator - pull up tight (but not too tight) and then trim off the
excess
Very cheap and very locust and it works
EDIT - just waited for the First Pic to load - I did mine on a recored Escort Rad - doesn't look like much chance of it on that rad!

do these zipties not cut though the radiator due to vibration?

I cable tied mine on. 2 years later and its just fine.
I made large plasitc "washers" with 2 holes in to spread the load of the cable tie where it does a U turn on the other side of the rad.
Feed the cable tie between the fins of the radiator, loop it round and feed it between the fins lower down on the other side of a "pipe" or
whatever they're called. tighten the tie on the outside face of the fan.

Don't use the zip tie thingies - they WILL wear through your rad core eventually. Trust me
Here's a pic of my setup - easy peasy

Another vote for some aliminium straps instead of those zip-tie thingies.....
I'm sure people have used zip-ties without a problem but for me it's a peace of mind thing...
thanks for the replys folks

I think you're better off making up a proper bracket but if you insist on using zip-ties, then put a bit of plastic tubing through the rad and run the ties through the tube. Saves an awful lot of hasle in the long run
