After spending time with both Grant at Luego and Marc at MNR... Haggling a lot, I have got myself a cracking deal on the RT+ with full Raceleda front
end, Radical Spec Inboard Protech Shocks and an LSD...
It was a choice between (what I considered) a done deal on the Viento, with its spacious cabin and purposeful looks, practical for road use whenever,
or a road legal track day tool which fitted me like a glove...
Neither was a bad choice, Grant's attention and service was second to none, but the drivers car won the day....
I cant wait til mid october

Jet washed the engine today and removed the engine loom (not in that order) from the donor, so that will make the engine removal an easier/cleaner

was curious , mine will be front mounted 300 x 400 core last time i measured it .
It appears that the MNR rad is an angled instalation, and often has an oil cooler underneath...
I am going to look at either putting the intercooler under the rad and ducting the cool air thru it before it gets to the rad, or using 2 smaller
intercoolers side mounted with air ducted in from the side...
Until the engine is in the car its all speculation, as I may just go for a smaller intercooler for road use, and use an aquamist system for the

Still wont have much more than 350 bhp, but will be less reliant on the turbo boost for normal road use...

Hello G.Man (and everyone else for that matter) .. i'm a newbie on the forum ... hoping to get my hands on building a Vortx RT in the near
future.
Regarding the Intercooler. I intend on fitting a turbo'd engine also. Side mounting the intercooler could be a solution where space is scarce.
However if you do a bit of homework, you'll find out that an intercooler will allow enough aiflow through it to cool the radiator. I had 3
radiators on my Celica GT4 all fitted infront of each other, and i never had any overheating trouble.
The major point you must look into is adequate airflow from the nose cone to where it counts, which is pretty much everywhere under the bonnet in a
turbo unit. Remember the turbine side of the turbo will be glowing cherry red under heavy boost. So you need to figure out some bonnet vents to create
a negative pressure to the rear of the bonnet, which will cause a suction effect on the nose cone duct.
That should keep things cool and enable you to mount your intercooler in the front, ahead of the radiator.

cherry red turbo...
You are spot on about the airflow thru the intercooler and then the rad, the main problem is routing the intercooler hoses to get it infront of the
MNR rad, which is a particularly large model...
I have been considering ducts in the top of the bonnet/nose to facilitate an "in at the front, out at the rear" airflow but again, until the
car is here and being built its gonna be impossible to decide on a final course of action...
Yesterday evenings work consisted of:-
removal of the engine wiring loom including labelling
removal of the propshaft
removal of the 2wd turbo manifold and turbo (smaller 4wd version being sourced)
removal of the starter motor
removal of a few gearbox bolts (3 more to go)

all volvos come with FMIC !! - a bit industrial tho for locost use - hence the need for a custom one
piping is of course the trick , mine will be top/bottom
Well engine and gearbox are now sitting on the floor of my garage...
Was hoping to have it collected by Marc/Chris on their way to kitcar live, but thats gonna depend on the fuel situation... ie whether they will be
there or not...
Once this is delivered then its just strip a few more donor parts, and then wait for delivery of the chassis kit...
Once thats sorted, I can send the engine off for its overhaul...

Got my engine ready to take to brands, lots of work, still can't fit it in something so it wont damage my car en route..
Chris told me I can have a ride in the demonstrator at brands...

I wouldn't use the heavy duty clutch cover if I was you unless you intend on having one leg bigger than the other. My car runs 300bhp and 4x4 and
had a AP paddle clutch and group N cover, which made the clutch very difficult to control. I changed to a standard clutch cover and an AP fast road
plate, much more user friendly and no slip after 5000 miles.
Have fun but be careful especially if its damp.

I had to replace the clutch as the oldun was clapped so this package came in at a good price (compared to plate alone) and should give some leeway on
the power if I go for the 400bhp option...
Dont know the target weight of the car yet, but will expect about 80kgs more than the demo car so around 520kgs I hope...
With 350 bhp that should be 673bhp/ton compared to the 390 odd of the demo car...
Will be lively, and definate dry weather only car.... tyres will be Toyo 888's or Kumho KU15's for road legal use...
BTW, that exhaust needs a repack, its last noise test hit 108Db... lol

i think that 520kgs is a bit optomistic when you compare it to the supposed 397kg of the blade engine rt+
take off the 77kg for the blade engine and that would give you 320kgs, add on the weight of the cossie engine and box over 300kg (as claimed by you in a previous post) and that gives 620kg
still light enough when there's 300+ bhp to move you around.
i'd go for the 400bhp option though

Had a great day at MNR today, they have spent a lot of time making sure the car is gonna be spot on for me...
Have added a few options to the package today, such as a Pace radiator (better than the stock BEC jobbie they do) a Digidash (tidy)... Larger 50 ltr
(ish) fuel tank (with foam)...
Cant wait to start building this baby...
Gonna start at 330 ish bhp and then once I have got used to driving the beastie, upgrade to 400 bhp... maybe more...
Sounds like you got a few things sorted today Mark. Just wondering about the 50 litre tank.
What size is the standard tank compared to the 50 litre and how much extra is it? Can you fit the boot section in with the larger tank?

The stock tank is 28 ltrs, and with the 50 ltr tank I doubt you will get a boot on it as well...

Yeah I spose it is becoming a bit of a build diary, but it is the first Cosworth powered MNR being built...
It is an area to share things about the MNR and it keeps all my questions and answers + what I am doing (which others may or may not wish to copy) in
one place rather than lots of little threads...
its nice to see someone progressing too. mines ground to an almight halt due to lack of car coupons..
This is why I have purchased almost EVERYTHING up front...
That way only minor items will be required to complete, and I wont have any nasty budget surprises...
Remainder should fit on the credit card... ie sundries such as bolts, hoses, washers yada yada
Just wish I had the beans up front to be able to buy the lot to begin with! Really would simplify things...
Then again I do find I get a great deal of satisfaction picking things up cheaply... It does take a lot longer and requires a lot of patience to wait
for those items to turn up (usually on ebay... )
Anyway time I got some sleep really after that pants night shift....

help apparantley is two weeks off work
which isnt going to happen so will have to struggle on and hope it gets better soon

Get in the freezer and get a bag of frozen peas. Drop it on your back with just your tee shirt on and stay still for as long as you can. Sweetcorn is usable as well but broccoli florets are crap .
icy heat cream you may have to order it online as it comes from amaerica but its the best thing for muscle related pain
ive been using it on my ankle and since i started the swelling has reduced and the day to day pain has almost subsided damn crappy ankle
its really good stuff though should help your back also try an ice bath just before you get into bed but make sure the bed is warming up with a hot
water bottle while your in the ice bath
not very pleasant but a godsend after rugby matches and apparently good for back pain
that is if you can get in ana dout of the bath in the first place
Yup, bag of frozen peas and ice packs great for reducing swelling, getting blood flow to the tissue and aiding healing...
Rub on some ibuprofen gel to help reduce inflamation (not pain killer as such but will help)
i always ask for the gel in the pharmacy, but they never have it and say that the oral ibuprofen is just as good. Never believed them though, i remember it from the good ole days...

There is no manifold or turbo included in those weights...
So add the manifolds induction system, clutch, intercooler, looking at another 30-40kg's
Gonna be approx 550kg's I reckon...

may have to allow a bit more, the engine mounts, exhaust cast manifold comes to another 14 kilos, dont have any other bits here to weigh
The inlet manifold is 1.5 kgs inc all the other bits plenum etc, exhaust is heavy, about 1.5x exhaust manifold, and the turbo is less than exhaust
manifold...
Should still come within the 40 kg's but then you gotta add fuel/water/oil etc...
Should be around 550kgs still...
If not its going on a diet, 4wd manifolds Light weight battery....
Okay, My life has just changed considerably...
I have just discovered I have got a 3yr contract to go and work in cyprus...
Its a good job and there is no question I am gonna take it, but it leaves me with a dillemma..
1. Complete the car in cyprus - not really practical as Cyprus has no SVA test for kit cars so would mean shipping it back to the uk for registration
and sva etc
2. Abandon the project and sell the parts - Nooooooooooooo
3. Complete the car before 1st december, get it sva'd and registered, and then ship it to cyprus and use out there...
Spoken to Chris and they are up for it...
So I am off to stay in harrogate fairly soon to get this beast finished...
OMG how scary is this... kit to finish in 1.5 months max...

The car will need to be registered in my name for 6 months before I can get a cyprus registration....
I will be building it with an MNR mechanic... At least thats what Chris has said...
Idea is get it finished, sva'd, registered, ship it over round about march april next year before the wife emigrates, use it on UK plates with a
green card, then once time limits reached, register in cyprus as a 6 month old car and re-insure with local firm...
The time between december and shipping next year, should be able to let marc and chris use the car as a show car if they wish...
It could be the loan car for when people smash up their's!
Should be one heck of a show car though.
Sounds like you've got most of the logistics sorted. Are you going to stay in one of their cottages up in Harrogate then?

Well, had a good week at MNR, Marc's family have made it a home from home.
Sadly we havent got the car started yet as Marc is such a perfectionist the chassis had to be perfect before hitting the powder coaters, so looks like
Tuesday for full steam ahead..
The ZX12R motor is an absolute peach, 4,000 miles only, and all the parts are immaculate except for the genny cover which is scuffed badly (where the
guy fell off). Luckily I have a carbon cover for this courtesy of Chris Norden
Should be an awesome car mate!
Make sure you take pictures at EVERY step and post them!

Things to watch out for...
1. Make sure you put the rear master cylinder on the offside of the car, Don't ask..
2. Remove as much powder coat as possible on bolt holes, mounting flanges bearing seats etc etc..
3. When fitting a 7.5 inch diff you MUST remove the backplate of the diff, dont struggle for ages like I did...
4. Gravi Gard covers any metal parts, fully clean or not and can be over painted
5. Do as much as humanly possible before fitting bodywork
6. Have a seat on hand to sit down when doing some jobs, your back will thank you, especially if you are over 6 foot...
7. Have post it notes handy to write reminders
8. Do a job/project list for each day with parts you have available, you don't have to follow the order in the build manual, in fact leaving the
upper scuttle panel (the one the battery mounts into) until last before the bodywork, will afford you greater access to lots of areas.
9. If you are fitting a quaiffe reverse box, dont run the fuel/brake lines down the centre of the tunnel Like I have, it will make life difficult
later

slow day today as was at the SVA with Marc on another customers car, but blitz day on mine tomorrow, so should see some action...
Wiring is almost complete and we have starter and spark which is a good sign...
all the electrics that have been wired are working so fingers crossed when I finish it off we have some action...
finalise gear linkage tomorrow, turn the reverse box around to move the gearlever to the rear of the box and then rest of bodywork, brakes finished
off, dry sump tank in and a few p-clips then finally the water plumbing...

Well, not as much progress today as I would have liked, rear wheel arches on, gear linkage finished, bit more plumbing done...
Had to turn the reverse box around as the lever fouled the chassis...
Cycle wings fould the wheels as they are too wide...

Frint prop arrives monday, rear torque resiliant tube prop in, and VERY tight fit, only 2-3 mm clearence ate present so we may have to mod the tunnel
very slightly just to give more clearence...

Yeah its not bad at all... Spent 2.5 hours wiring and fitting the rear lights on saturday morning, and only managed 4 lights fitted and only 2
wired... its surprising how much time the finishing touches take...
I would say its taken about 68 hours from me so far and about 10-15 from MNR staff not including the time Marc himself has spent on it doing the
techie stuff... (geometry, rear wishbones, front suspension etc)
One thing to watch out for is the wheels tho...
My ET37 (designed for ford apparently) 7x15 inch wheels foul the fron cycle wing brackets so Marc is having to make some custom ones...
I would suggest staying away from 7x15 wheels or using a smaller offset, say ET18 peugot size if you want to persist with them...
PS. The headlights are on, but not tightened yet, they are droopy making the car look sad... I am sure it will be happier when its finished... next
week?

the sender is on the side of the reverse box and there should be 2 wires conveniently position if you have placed your loom correctly...

i was round MNR yesterday for a natter, had a look at your car in the flesh.
looks great so far! the zx12r looks miles bigger fitted than the diddy r1.
(ians is definately the 'black sheep' of the family. lol a huge black v8 sitting in a room full of --3-- !! white BEC's. never seen

I have my VortX RT+ almost finished , today I have had my first serious test drive , the 2004 R1 engine is really outstanding . I only think that the
3,14 diff. is too long , I am thinking about putting a 3.62 in , that still gives me a 132 mph theoretical topspeed.

Martin, I have a 3.62 diff in my 1998 R1 engined VortX and it seemed fine on my trip to and from the SVA test.
A bigger numbered diff will give more acceleration in each gear but will give a lower top speed in each gear. You will also have higher revs at a
given speed. At morotway speeds, the revs will be 15% higher with a 3.62 diff compared with a 3.14.
I intend to use the MNR for trackday use and racing mostly , so I don't bother much about cruising rpm . For cruising I use my 180 horsepower
Zetec engined Westfield.

I collected the kit (2 kits actually) last February , 1 RT+ and a RT and brought them over to Holland , that's were I live.
The almost finished car is chassisnr. 13 and the other one is #14.
#14 will get a 200hp Ford Duratec engine
and I sold this kit to a friend of mine.
I didn't have any electrical problems at all , but I bought the engine cpl. with CDI , cyclelock and wiringharness. I took everything out of the
harness that wasn't engine related , exept for the cyclelock , the fired up at the first attempt.

I think its not only credit to you for a superb fast build but also to Marc for such a straightforward design. It seems to me, MNR owners have far
few problems come SVA time and those they do have are more engine related (good to hear the 12R is no bother) than corrections required to the
design.
All looks good for the future, cant wait to get my finger out and get the whees in motion.

The SVA bits have strangely fallen off and a carbon flip screen and racetech mirrors now sit where those cack mirrors were..
The MNR "front bumpers" are off next, saved a lot of time in radius and nut checking... (pics to follow)
The fixes on the day were some nuts and roll pins to lock the brake bias bar, deliberately left off so we could lock it once they had agreed brake
bias figures...
1 cable tie
Steering self centering..
That was it...
Oh and a leaky brake light switch..
A lot of thanks to Ian for the help last night, up til midnight to change a faulty handbrake cable, and Marc for his invaluable assistance...
Now we just have to sort out why the rear hubs are binding..
Thought it was a clapped LSD but disconnected the shafts and its the hubs... the diff is tight, but not that tight...
And yes, first MNR car to go through first attempt so far via MNR... think one other on the forum tho...

Well done. Another one has overtaken me.
By front bumpers, do you mean indicator extensions? My SVA man said that a lot of people fit their indicators high and on long stalks to exempt a
larger portion of thier suspension from the radius checks. I simply covered all edges with rubber trim.

The car is being delivered to my home on sunday, after a full day of setup today...
Marc was very thorough with the corner weights etc achieving a perfect 50-50 balance...
We had some issues with flame spitting from the exhaust on overun, which was cured by sealing the exhaust breathers, which has also stopped the
headers glowing red all the time
Engine sounds very sweet now as well...
Car is a little heavier than we expected with a full tank due to the much heavier LSD and shafts from the cossie and the 60 odd ltr fuel tank, But I
havent built the car for ultimate low weight, and have more focussed on the quality of the fittings... the diff and shafts are more than twice as
heavy as a 3.38 open diff and push in shafts...
Anyway, car is a peach and I am well happy

Maybe because I have sealed the breather system off tho, as it wasnt doing it before... I may have allowed some oil from the cam cover into the
exhaust thru the reed valve plates due to the size of bolts I have used.. if so I will just remove the reed valve plates and that should cure it...

640 kg? That's a weight off my mind (no pun intended) Mine weighed in at 540 kg at my local weighbridge with a full tank of fuel and a big bag
of tools in the boot. I was thinking that mine was a bit lardy.
Mine too has an LSD rear end, plus a boot box and padded seats. The tools will add a bit of weight but then so will the heater that's sat in my
basement.

Even with mod's, Hellfire's doesn't hit an accurate 200bhp (measured 152bhp at wheels (possible 185ish)). I'm sure he'd be
interested how you achieved that?
Mods include 4-2-1 exhaust, Yoshi can, power commander, NGK IX plugs, K&N filter - all set-up by Holeshot Racing... hmmm! IIRC

To Hit 200 bhp you need to adjust the ignition timing and seal off the exhaust breathers (clean air system) as well as the race system and airfilter
changes...
If its only making 185 at the crank, thats barely above stock... even a race can on a stock exhaust can achieve that on a 12r...
Or maybe its transmission drag or an inaccurate dyno... heaven forbid
PS. Mine hasnt been dyno'd so I cannot say what the power is, but the mods to supposedly give 200bhp have been done... but 185bhp at the crank is
definately low for a 12r, my brothers GSXR1000 bike with wet sump makes a genuine 180bhp at the rear wheel, say 200 at the crank... Rizla Suzukis are
making at least another 20-30 over that....
4-2-1 is not the best for max power, but will give better midrange torque, 4-1 gives better peak power at the expense of midrange...
What kind of headers is hellfire running? Are they equal length on all cylinders? thats worth quite a few BHP...

G.Man - you won't hit nearly 200bhp without the ram-air system which only comes into effect at 150+mph which is pretty much unachievable in a 7
of any 'ilk. Holeshot Racing are one of (if not) THE best tuning places in the UK. He held the land speed record on one of his handbuilt (BUSA
TURBO (700bhp))bikes. He knows everything there is to know about bike engines - mapping/tuning/etc ect. Marc will probaby know him as he is also a
racer-type guy. He is VERY well known amongst racers for his experience, so - however knowledgeable you are, I doubt you will surpass him on this
occassion.
He did state, our headers held the engine back approx. 3~4 bhp but here was nothing more to be gained from the ZX12R engine without masses of money -
the RAMAIR system is key in this engine and neither of us can use it to it's effect. Therefore 200bhp is unattainable unless you know different

My thoughts also!!!
I know very little about bike engines, but they are only engines after all, they still use the same principles and equal length headers are CRITICAL
to max power figures.
The irony is that for road driving they are not critical at all as torque spread is more important and having the exhaust "come on" at one
particular point in the rev range will not help the torque spread at all (though it will obviously maximise the power/torque available at that tuned
rpm)
Anyway, I know of several ZX12R's making over 200hp in autograss without aftermarket cranks or rods so what's the issue????
The issue is G.Man's car fully laden is 640kg - therefore not for the track/racing (LSD ZX12R engine). When I said unequal perhaps I should have
stated within a slight difference of each other. The differences in the slightly unequal length headers were unmeasurable on a rolling road, his
statement not mine - we tended to question this stement however, for reason's as stated. Westfield produce a very large diameter header and bore
exhaust with unequal length headers - according to him it looses them 20-30bhp IIRC. So contradictory statement's there then...
If you don't wanna take your car to him that's your choice - his credentials are very well rated. As he has one of 3-4 rolling road
setup's in the country authorised by powercommander to run bike engines on a car setup - eg one axle (two wheeled one axle bike engine car (think
about it?)) you are chopping out probably 25% of your rolling road setup's already. If you haven't fitted a Power Commander then you
needn't be concerned. Have you tried looking for a suitable Rolling Road for a bike engine you cant use a car setup as most don't have the
facility to do Power Commander. You can't use a bike setup - no wide rolling road?
I agree the ZX12R engine can be tuned above 200bhp, but I also said "without spending lots of money" - new cranks/cams and all the rest of
the shananigans IMO is lots of money!
FFS - why does it usually end up being taken out of context and things said that haven't always been said?
G.Man - look carefully on our video and you can see the exhaust gas analyzer - where are you getting your info from regarding Holeshot??? You
can't setup a Power Commander (accurately or otherwise) without an exhaust Gas Analyser? (AFAIK) We are running the non-race version (PCIII-USB
as it's not for racing) without fuel alteration therefore giving us a major disadvantage with losses that add up to it not performing very well
at all in comparision.
ATEOTD - what does it matter - is it a competition? Isn't it all good natured opinions?
Regarding the blue smoke - haven't you fitted a dry sump? May just be a rogue drop of oil on the exhaust or something... be careful though :-S

A car was sent to holeshot for emissions setup and jack said he couldnt do gas analysis on it as he didnt have a gas analyser.. his statements not
mine..
I already have a PC3 USB and have advanced the ignition timing 6 degrees (moved the ignition pickup) which gives about 10bhp...
I am lucky in that I live in Northampton, and have a few rolling roads nearby that can setup the PC3, but they arenet "dynojet recommended"
as they dont use one of their dyno's...
The blue smoke is an issue related to the removeal of the clean air system, apparently, when you seal it off it can suck in some oil from the seal
around the cam cover if its not sealed perfectly, when you rev the engine and come off the throttle...
I am going to try another way of blocking it off to kill the exhaust backfiring but still allow some "flexibility" in the exhaust vaccum...
or I shall just have to seal off the cam cover better...

If you don't wanna take your car to him that's your choice - his credentials are very well rated. FFS - why does it usually end up being taken out of context and things said that haven't always been said?
G.Man - look carefully on our video and you can see the exhaust gas analyzer - where are you getting your info from regarding Holeshot??? You can't setup a Power Commander (accurately or otherwise) without an exhaust Gas Analyser? (AFAIK) We are running the non-race version (PCIII-USB as it's not for racing) without fuel alteration therefore giving us a major disadvantage with losses that add up to it not performing very well at all in comparision.
ATEOTD - what does it matter - is it a competition? Isn't it all good natured opinions?

Yeah, no point in arguing about it, at the end of the day if it only makes 180-190bhp it will be fine...
Mine has "equal" length headers, bar a few mm's so isnt perfect, and I doubt it will be a huge difference in the grand scheme of
things...

Hellfire, had a look at the vids on your page, including the donnington "MNR breakdown" or should I say, pitlane induced fuel starvation...
lol, couldn't see the gas analyser, but what the hell... he may have just been using a lambda probe which is sufficient for engine tuning...
I note yours is backfiring in that video which is a problem with the clean air system sucking air into the exhaust... if you seal that off the car
will run a lot cooler, particularly the headers, and the backfiring will cease... along with the flame spitting...
It will also give about 2-3 more bhp due to better scavenging (at present a lot of the scavenging is lost due to the exhaust sucking thru the reed
valves instead)...

I agree with that level of popping being indicative of a slight problem, but I was always led to believe (from various sources in rallying) that a bit
of crackling on the overun was due to good scavenging (just a bit though )
If you didnt know better, you would first think that amount of popping and flaming would be due to overfueling, but if it was sucking air, I guess it
would have the same effect

Yes normally its overfueling, but the zx12r and indeed all the kawasaki bike motors now i think, use a system of ducts thru cam cover mounted reed
valves to draw air into the exhaust system. This continues the "burn" in the exhaust and heats the cat up good and proper...
When you ditch the cat and the stock exhaust all it does is causes huge backfires on overun, so the racers just block them off...
I would think there is a degree of overfueling going on as well, but since the kleen air system was blocked off, the exhaust no longer backfires, so
issue solved for me...
Still a few things to tinker with, but I gotta have summat to do once I am in Cyprus eh...
Oh yes, wouldnt be a kit if that was it finished

Seen both plastic and polished ally, I think depending on car colour they can both look great.
When you say DD2 to behind steering wheel cut out, where do you mean, Im being thick.
Was SVA man ok with where it was, could you read it ok then or did you have a whopper Sierra wheel on for SVA and its only the smaller diameter which
is obscurring it.

tracking wherever you go in Cyprus? The engine is very loud and we're having to throttle it back using the original can to get below 105Db.

Gauges are only obscured by smaller steering wheel, its gonna mount on the end of the steering column shroud where the old wheel used to sit...
Best way to be honest is fit a PC3R to adjust the ignition as well as the fueling... makes a huge difference.. oh and make sure you are not running a
restricted model..

wasn't available at the time of ordering - our's is a 2004 model (B2). It is very likely that it is restricted too... we know of the box to
unrestrict it but again, it's already a beast to handle as it is. Also with the fact that Dad hasn't been to Spec Savers yet (Hellfire 1
write off) he's not getting more power until he does!

no it is really that big !!!!, when you draw a line from top of rear hoop to front chassis crossmember ( this is the two places the car will rest on
when rolled ) as per rac msa spec there is 50mm clearance from head touching ground with helmet fitted, thats why each car has a custom rollbar to
suit the drivers height.

Well after many months of heartache with Cyprus customs and vehicle dept, they have finally agreed to register my car with a new registration and
subject me to only £608 cyprus pounds for excise duty...
Hellenic insurance have agreed to insure me, 3rd party liability only, so it should be on the road soon...
Now I just need my landlady to sort the driveway so I can get the car in and out... lol

Well my driveway is now modified and the car is cooking on gas..
Have a slight oil leak from the dry sump system which is causing some concern, as a little oil goes a long way...
And I have no short 32mm spanners to tighten the pipes up with... grrrr
Has been out on its UK plates so far, but will be the cypriot plates in the next few weeks, then we are gonna give it some stick...
Am hoping to get some drag times on it in a the next 2 months and maybe even do a sprint race for road legal cars...

Fueling is sorted, car walked the second part of its registration process at the Govt SVA centre today...
Gave it some welly down the bypass and had a full on powerslide around a roundabout and whilst overtaking a car...
The grip level is awesome until you floor it in a low gear... lol...

Well, the Cyprus authorities hit rock bottom today by saying I need the donor vehicles logbook to get my car registered..
As that isnt gonna happen ever, I though screw them.. Instead of paying them to register the car and then pay them road tax, I went to the north/south
divide, and bought insurance for the UK registration number... £90 for 12 months 3rd party cover...
Sorted...
Took the car for a blast and the poor thing overheated... new rad should arrive next week, and I am gonna need to vent the bonnet to get some better
airflow for the 40 odd degree heat here...
Clutch is now slipping as well.. probably cooked it today..
could you not get any sierra v5 ??? and show as a donor car ??? bummer about the clutch is it a barnet one or std ???
They only picked up on it as the car receipt had the donor registration number quoted on it...
Its a stock clutch, may just need cable slackening, will check soon
Was the sierra scrapped? If not you can get a new reg document for £19 from the DVLA.

Been looking at your previous picture which shows an under the hood look at your ZX12-r and am curious as to what the aluminimum cylinder is situated
just under the right hand side of the nosecone.
Also wondered if you could let us know what you did with your fuel line as i see three copper pipes running down the tunnel , presumable one is brake
and the other two fuel but i recall you saying a while back that you didnt need two lines when using the original fuel pump.
Anyways im must thank you for this thread and lets see if we can get it to the number one spot on the longest runnings threads.

There are 3 copper pipes as I am running a higher flow fuel pump and a pressure regulator. Not the original pump..
The silver cylinder with the copper pipe going into it is the ctach tank for the reverse gearbox...
They tend to spit oil a bit...

Still trying to sort my brakes at the moment..
Master cylinder is fine, calipers are fine, so there must be a blockage somewhere in the brake lines...
The brakes work, but after 1 mile or so they stick on... fronts only that is...
Very frustrating as first time I was 2 miles from home... outward leg...
None of the pipes are crimped/pinched/bent as far as I can see... gonna get them pumped up and release each union in turn and see where the fluid
doesnt wee out from...
That will tell me its before that union...
One of my brakes did something similar. I could smell them so I stopped and checked them all. The first three were cold to the touch. The last one
burned off my finger print.
I took the caliper apart and there was a bit of roughness on the piston. A light touch with some 2000 grit wet and dry seems to have cured it.

Got my registration through this week
Car goes into a performance shop today to have brakes fixed (£30) including refil with race spec synthetic brake fluid...
Fitting and plumbing of pace/caterham 4 core race rad (£50)
And finally, at last, full dyno tune... Should cure the overheating, flat spots when warm, and give me a dyno printout...
What's the expected figure then at the wheels??

Difficult to say... I have no idea how the transmission loss compares to when it was on a bike...
If it was on a bike, I would expect about 10/15% transmission loss giving between 170-180 at the wheels...
Current readout on the digidash says 175bhp but god knows how accurate that is, although the weight is programmed in correctly so who knows...

Race rad is in, and brakes are sorted, sticking master cylinder it was...
Darn nuisance having to remove the sump to get all the broken clutch out...

Music to my ears, dyno tuning is ok to a point, but on the road stuff is much more accurate. Mind you, the BiB don't appreciate you doing it on the public road

road..
May be doing a hillclimb with it in march, so looking to lose some weight now... althought it will be quicker than anything competing there

Using a Pace caterham 4 core race rad, ditched the thermostat (even tho it is very cold here at the moment) and using an EWP80 davies craig on full
time running...
Finished fitting and plumbing the pump today, took it for a spin, and no boiling over... looks like I have sorted it at last..
Have a minor oil leak from the dry sump pump fittings, well I say minor, but its gonna be a bitch to get to the fittings to tighten them...

Car was very squirelly under braking, then i spotted how much toe out was on the car... wound some off and that improved it a lot.. think we added
that for sva and forgot to take it off.. lol, anyway, a quick geometry check will be done once its all ready to go...

Firstly, make sure you have all the documentation, past insurance in uk, for at least last 6 months, proof of work and ending in uk..
If your reg doc does not quote the type approval number from the SVA cert, you will need the SVA cert, or at least a copy, and they will have to
verify with VOSA.
Will need MOT, I can help you with that, SVA test, Not like UK, just a brief check...
Then you will need alien registration card, proof of purchase or rental of property in cyprus, and employment or income...
after that, prety straightforward..
And now its for sale as I am returning to UK

Engine going in is a GTi-6 with Zsara VTS 5 speed box (the 6 speed doesnt fit right).
