thickness of ply
Morning all
Thought I'd have a go at making a one pice boot lid out of ply this weekend. What thickness board have people used to make a boot lid,
I'd like it reasonably thin but rigid enough that it doesn't flop at the corners when lifting it.
any info appreciated as I'l probably pop to B&Q tonight to get a sheet.

I used 6mm on mine, covered in vinyl. Seems OK so far.

I used 6mm as well. Tried to make it one piece then found because my roll bar is braced I couldn’t get it into place. Ended up in three pieces. But
covered in Vinyl from Woolies looks reasonably respectable

6mm ply covered in Black vinyl. Made in one piece with a lockable hinged lid in the middle for access to the boot and fuel filler. I was intending
to build a stowage tray for some tools and a coat etc, but never got around to it.

6mm Marine Ply on mine, just in case it gets wet.
Nothing fancy, no lids, boxes etc, just there to fill the hole...
Fits flush with the radius on the rear panel.
Might get changed for a MK boot box over the Winter. (If I get round to it...)

Same here - 6mm ply.
As I have backstays on my bar, I rather cunningly cut some holes in outer pieces and slid them up backstays then lowered bar into place. See here -

Also used cabinet hinges, so it springs closed - ie no catch

B&Q waterproof ply is kak - it ties knots in itself if you breathe on it. I suspect the best bet is to get marine ply from a timber
merchant's. My B&Q ply bootlid has some 20mm square glued on to give it a semblance of rigidity.....
