Fed up with buying front wings, gonna make some
I'm fed up either buying or repairing front cycle wings for my car.
Has anybody made any, and if so what did you use as a mould/buck?
I was thinking about the inside of a 17" tyre.

use a cycle wing as the buck, worked ok for me (my friend actually).

make a mould of one of your current front wings from in GRP. Then you'll have exactly the same as you old ones!

Unfortunately in my last race I destroyed one and seriously rearranged the other.
Anybody have a buck I could borrow if I paid the postage.

If you did use the inside of a tyre and black/very dark grey gel coat it might look a bit like carbon twill... or maybe not.

Hi Gary
That mould would be great.
I'm back out at the end of the season when my Masters is finished. Got a whole load of plans to get the car looking good and going well.
I'm off to Coningsby next so we'll be local.
If you're interested, here's a video of us at Thruxton last year...

saw your other video from pembrey. Looks like a good reason for a side impact bar when people go out braking themselves like that!
