SVA OK Louvres

Are those DIY (e.g. B&Q)ali louvres OK for 'the man' or not? Some people have modified these, some not.

Is there a cost effective SVA safe product available

Thanks Rusty, people are always commenting on it.

Both mine and a friends passed sva without having to resort to edge trims, Mines pressed into the plain ali bonnet at a not very locost price, the other was louvre panels, just plain double house brick panels.

Hope it helps Dan. Below is Garys bonnet withthe B&Q panels(it's a +4 chassis)

Arent the B&Q style louvres designed to go in doors etc for cupboards that house gas appliances? In my mind that is where they should stay. Cant imagine they would give a good look in an automotive application. I stand to be corrected if anyone can provide counter evidence.

I think Gary above might disagree!

How doth one differentiate between an OK louvre and a not OK louvre?

Is this a matter of stylistic preference, functional performance or both?

louvres

I havent really got a problem with using DIY louvres as long as great effort is taken in disguising there origin. This could just be a case of maybe cutting the full brick shape pannel in half (between the two sets of louvres) If you were to change the orientation of the vents on the bonnet to something a little less obvious then a row along the rear, i think the DIY option could work well. It is also important to remember that sometimes less is more.

And post.

Garys bonnet looks good because he took time to blend/radius the edges of the bonnet panel into the louvres, you can still tell what they are but it doesn't look cobbled together.

ATB Dan. Sh*t giant picture sorry
