should I paint may bonnet black?
some of you may remember my bonnet polishing episode - a helluva long time to do but I am thinking a bonnet painted black would look far better (even
though it seems a pity to waste that polishing effort but ...)
So what do you think?

I think it'd look better in black. Keeps more of a colour theme for the car.

I'm a big fan of black (see avitar), but I think red would look much better. Otherwise, I like it as is.

Leave it as it is.
The more unpainted alloy on a se7en, the better in my opinion.

Defiitely not red. Bluh. Not a fan of such a large amount of solid colour on a 7. Black I tell you, black!

Leave the bonnet as it is but rip the side panels off and replace them with aluminium. (Or get them sprayed aluminium silver)
Aluminium and red looks good IMO.

ah red, didn't think of that one - was heading for a red/black scheme.
the nose cone has been painted by me by mixing up paint until it kinda matches the rest so mixing another lot of red for the bonnet will mean it will
be ever so sligfhtly different wheres that problem won't exist with the black paint.
so what tro do what to do........

Get some mixed up at the paint shop, it won't cost a lot in clueless paint and it will look a lot better. The bonnet doesn't look right when
the sides are coloured and a different colour looks like an afterthought.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

easy for you to say - search for my posts about paint matcing for the nose cone.
in short, I bought some paint that was close but when next to the oterh red bits was way out. I bought some more paint that I then mixed in with the
original to match it by eye that was far far far closer than the paint done in the shop - matching by using colour swatches.
Whenever I make up my paint, it is hit and miss really - I spay a bit, match then adjust the colour so for sure I will get antoehr shade of red.
Unless one is looking very closes, one probably would not be able to tell.
red nose is looking like the way to go though (which is annoying as I had 2 red cars already and wanted someting different - the inside of the cockpit
has expose styas in red that would need to be apinted. maybe next year I paint it green/oragne whatever ....
thanks for doing the piccy - I'd hate to admint it but it does look better than now.

Well, the car's sides, you don't want to see my sides. Ever.
Thinking of a colour change actually. Ecurie Ecosse flag blue for the GRP bits with the sides left ally. And maybe, just maybe a GT40 style stripe
over the middle in a silver to match the sides. It would help to break up the huge expanse of solid colour when viewed from the front.
(Sorry for the thread hijack.)

Ally bonnet AND sides look more like a proper 7. I think all painted ones look like pretend Cobras.
