Im not voting.
I have nearly reached 3 years of my build and have settled on just about every colour to this point. At present, in order of likelyhood, it might be
1. dark, old fashioned red as seen on some audi tt
2. BRG
3. Yellow.
I have to make a decison sometime by october, as sprayingmlater than this would be under adverse temps and weather conditions, and spring next year
would be too late to get thro sva and have a decent summer season.

Steve.
PS in my view ally panels might look fine at the start, but not after a few months.

I'm sticking with the classic BRG with yellow nosecone.
The Wife wants it an Electric Blue, but not electric (??) go figure.
Some how I think it will end up being BRG and yellow at the front, with a metalic blue ass.
It Runs!!!!! Bring on the SVA!

In case you haven't already seen it, there's a colour picker type thing on the westfield site, it's a bit of fun for a few
minutes.

I'm with Brookie on that, as lary yellow as possible - I want the lorries to see me as I overtake!! So thats what I voted.
However, I've seen one dark metallic burgungy kinda colour that looked really nice, smart instead of in-yer-face yellow.

Funny enough I love the colour too, it is amulet red, I even took a photo of a TT to which we had just fitted a body kit because I liked it so
much!!

i have seen a wood paneled se7en, from a distance it looked brown, but up close, tho diffrent looking it was quite good..
it had stickers for some hand made furniture company all over it.
only thing was: things like the rear wheel arches had square corners, a good effort none the less

Thanks for that Mark - now I know what the colour is called. If its the right one, its non-metallic. My favourite colour is bright red, but there is
no way thats gonna look retro on my morgan look-alike - but I think that colour will. Lets see if I change my mind by autumn, when I will be pointing
a spray gun at the car with any luck!

Steve,
Yes, it is non metallic, but it is clear over base, I will get the code for you if you need it.
I have changed my mind about 124627 times since I started the build, starting off with that really bright orange in which they do the later
saxo's, a vivid 2 stage metallic blue used on new VW Beetles, polychromes on the RM site and even plain white after seeing a westy at Exeter
show (the one with the red seats!)
Only when all the bodywork is complete will I confirm, I THINK......

Dark blue with a yellow nose and wings of course!
Cheers

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Not just me thats indecisive then!
Clear over base is what?
Something like metallic, when you put down the colour coat then put clear coat over the top?
I have done a pretty decent job on a home spray before (and two crap jobs over the years previously - not using an electric spray gun and not doing it
outside helped a lot, as did lining my garage with plastic sheet and making it a clean enclosed environment). However........how easy is it for an
amateur to do a clear over base job?
I dont want to kill myself with 2 pack either - needs to be cellulose.....
Alternatively, if I want to make life easier.....is it possible to go to a paint shop and ask them to match the colour but mix up a cellulose
paint?
advice well appreciated!

Clear over base, yes, it is a non gloss colour coat (single pack polyester) followed by a 2 pack clear lacquer, you could use single pack clear, but
it degrades over time especially under sunlight, but are you going to leave your car outside all the time? probably not!

oh nope! gonna be molly coddled in the garage and not driven in the wet if I can help it!
Avenue Panel, in Rushden, northants, is my nearest body parts and paint supplier. Think I will have to have a discussion with em when it comes to
time.
twin pack seems a great way to paint a car if it wasnt for the deadly bits.

btw - how many coats of each would be normal?
