Re-painted rear panel

I decided to fully repaint the rear panel with a different technique (closer to panel and turn up fluid plus fan screws).

I'm quite pleased with the result although it will be easier to see how good it is once compounded/polished:-

Looking good - after compounding should be smooth like a mirror!

Forgive me if I'm wrong - but that looks like a lot of overspray on the chassis roll bar

No, it's splattered polish my 1st attempt with an electric polisher!

Wouldn't matter anyway as I'm going to have to repaint the roll bar as the powder coat is rusting through

good example of sod's law this; not a beetle in sight until you start to spray - see you've managed to catch 3 on the white stripes

lol nevermind - the number plate light will hide the beetles!

Doesn't look it on the photo but the racing stripes are silver and the blue is metalic. Looks loads better in the flesh.

Once it polished I'll try and get some good pics.

Making myself wait until tomorrow to give the paint 24hrs to dry before I start polishing.

A 1.5HP 6L £50 jobby from B&Q.

TBH it's stuggling to keep up but with a 1.2mm gun I'm (only) just about getting away with it.

I bought it to power a ratchet when I was at the stage of constantly taking suspension on and off and I'm suprised it has the poke to spray.

Would really like a 100L Clarke Industrial one but don't think the garage power would cope.

not a beetle in sight until you start to spray

or a greenfly, dandelion clock, small spider, wasp etc. If you do get them don't try to pick them off just leave them till the paint hardens, it's like sweet revenge, then when you cut it back there's only the feet left.
edit:- Wasps love cellulose thinners, they are the glue sniffers of the insect world.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

The harness fixings are the required 450+53mm required.
They are fully welded all round.
The seat is as low as it will go.
What else can I do?!
