How do I fit these mirrors?
I’m having a moment and cannot work out how to assemble my mirrors through the scuttle panel.
I guess it will be obvious but I can’t figure it!
Here’s the mirror:

Assemble as in pic below.
Drill hole in scuttle
Obtain large penny washer and nyloc nut to suit
Put mirror stalk into hole
fit penny washer and nyloc, adjust stalk angle to suit.
tighten nyloc.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

That was what I thought at first but then nothing holds the plastic bit and there is only a small edge from the nut on the outside of the body, no
space for a washer on both sides. Won’t it crack the fibreglass when I tighten the inside lock nut?

My temptation would be to try and get a thick penny washer for both inside and out or get someone to machine at least the outside one up in alloy and
paint it. When you make the hole in the glassfibre, make it larger than actually needed (2mm+_) and then use a thin rubber washer under the penny
washers so it doesn't clamp directly to the glassfibre and you get a slight amount of shock absorbing. Also when you drill the holes, very
slightly chamfer them on both sides to prevent cracking in the gell coat etc. Thats what I would do anyway.

There isn't enough thread to put washers either side. Ive decided to make some mounts to attach the mirrors to the roll cage, it gives me a
better view and they will be more secure, don't know why I didn't go that way in the first place!
Thanks anyway.
