Anyone know what this is?

Hi Guys,

Recently acquired this body shell, and whilst we know exactly what we intend to do with it, i have no idea of what exactly it is!

Anyone got any ideas? Chevron has been suggested but the air intake scoops appear to be in the wrong place!

With such a simplistic shape, could be nothing, as in could be a one off.

Could be an old 750 Formula car? What does the badge on the left hand side say (to the left of the 99)?

Surprised it doesn't seem to have any holes in the obvious place for a roll bar/cage.

Definately home made and they used a hardboard former for the shape as it's so square.

Thanks Guys!

Confirmed my thoughts - at least nothing to be too upset about if half of it is left in the armco!

iank the sticker is "Sports Car Club of America" but suspect this is just a red herring. The Roll bar cutouts appear to allow for forward leaning stays.

Bi22le - you're right! It's just a door stop at the moment!

If it isn't a red herring, then the car might be an old D-sports racer (kind of the US equivalent of Formula 750).

You could try asking in the 'vintage' section of this forum:

AndyW - excellent mod! I might refrain though!

kj - many thanks for checking for the detail.

Sam_68 - thanks very much for the link, just about to set something up on there!

Regards,

Keith

So after a bit more research it definitely fits with the DSR models raced in the States and looks to possibly have been based on a Legrand Mk 18 possibly Mk 25 - interestingly run on bike engines but the series appears to suggest they are direct drive - ie no diff!

More of an overgrown go - kart with suspension - some interesting stuff on the DSR forum - thanks Sam!
