Wipers install
Would anyone be so kind as to put up some photos of their wiper installs please? Specifically under/behind the scuttle.
Weighing up the options with a full screen....

Tut all you like - not my decision.
New owner would like the option of full screen for the road and be able to swap to the aero screen for the track

Thanks for the pics.
David - what motor is that? Is it a mini one? How is it mounted? I would really like to be able to mount it to the inside of the scuttle if possible,
if not then it could get very tricky...
As you can see from this pic there isnt a huge amount of room - possibly a little more on the drivers side. (Wiring is much tidier now by the way!)

Mine is a book Locost, so the scuttle's made of steel bar and sheet. The wiper motor (classic mini) is fixed to a steel bar that goes from the
firewall to a scuttle fixing screw using the original fixing method, which was a steel u-shaped strap. The strap is covered with rubber strip, and
the motor sits on a rubber pad.
I found that fitting the wheel-boxes was the first thing to do, then I worked out where the motor could go... it's quite a lump! Remember that
the motor can swivel 360 degrees around the end of the drive tube, which means that it can go at any angle that fits.
I was lucky to be given a wiper cover with the motor I bought off the bay - it makes it look a lot tidier, and means that the passenger can't
bang their knee on a sharp edge.

You can swap the wheelboxes, as blumoon says, or you can move a plastic bump on the motor's drivewheel to change the park position.
The main problem you'll find is the size of the motor. The wheelbox positions are governed by the wipers - sweep and park position - so you
have to account for a certain length of tubing from one of them, onto the motor. That length isn't fixed though, so you have some room for
adjustment. The tube is like industrial grade brake pipe, and tough to shape to a particular position - minimum radius bends etc.
I must admit that retrospectively fitting the screen and wipers was one of my least favourite jobs... I wish I'd done it from the beginning,
even if I had to take it all off again for the SVA.
