Can a fuel filler cap...
... be mounted next to the luggage compartment?
I dont want to spend any more money on bits i dont need and i have a coolant hose the right size for my fuel filler. It wont reach to the back panel
but it would go straight up.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Are you sure it doesnt need to be fuel resistant?

I had to present the full provenance of my filler hose to Mr SVA earlier this year.
Coolant hose is a no-no.
My filler is on the horizontal rear panel adjacent to the removable access panel - I don't have a boot box as such, the boot is the whole of the
space enclosed by the rear bodywork and includes the tank and filler hose along with battery, toolbox, etc.
Just remembered I've got a pic...

What internal diameter are you after ? as i may have a 150mm long length that you could use with an exhaust bend in the middle to give the required
length
OOOOOOhhh errrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!

and the fuel filler cap. It's a nice one, a bit out of the ordinary; looks like a boat one.

Ok cheers guys. How about the reducer then? Someone on here told me i could use a coolant reducer which is what i got (Steve m - tank filler is 45mm
and filler cap is 51mm).
If i cant use that, what else can i use?

Make a reducer. I did.
Two strips of 1.6mm steel bent into a circle of appropriate diameterand welded into a 'ring'. Then weld together.
Voila! One reducer.
I've told you this before!

Filler cap is from Tifosi; edging strip is from MK (a few years ago)
Not sure if the cap is IVA compliant - isn't there something about not being able to remove the key when the cap's off?
