Scuttle Size
Just acquired a nose cone for the +442 (will need some 'adjustment' to sit right) and am now looking for a scuttle (no hurry but just
want to be ready for 'the right one'
Anyone out there building the +442 who might be able to give me some direction on height for the nose/scuttle so it doesn't look too strange?
Just an after thought. Any views on making my own from steel/ally?

I made my scuttle out of ali, it was not hard to do.
Made a frame from MDF then dressed and welded the ali over this.
As you are only bending in one plane its pretty easy to do, if you cannot weld ali then you could dress 1" overlaps and rivit.

I think it was 16swg.
You make the frame much longer, you can then screw the ali into it to hold tight before dressing the edges over, if you look where its dropped over
the frame you can see the holes that I screwed it into the MDF with.
Before painting once I had bashed some louves into the bonnet.

See what you mean. Makes sense to keep it tight until it's formed. No good at Ally welding so I'll probably form it under.
No image on the thread BTW but I guess it's the one from your archive?
Like the Louvre punch BTW.
