Steve, I hope you're weighing the bodywork panels as you replace them all with CF. We all expect a full report of the cost -v- weight saving by the time you're finished..

Anyone asking cost, with CF, needs his head examined!!! It does look cool though. I am considering it myself, if I can find a supplier here in North America, which so far, I can't. Hello, CarbonMods or Fluke!

All the wet laid up sheets were NOT carbon, there is some glass in there! The reason for that is cost, and that was my choice, not Paul's (of Carbonmods). So to answer your original question they are able to do a "solid" carbon bonnet!

Phil - I am not able to do a specifiec weight comparison for the the old bonnet and new, but it is lighter and stiffer, but then again you could probably guess that! and you could also guess that it does cost a bit more than normal 'glass!

I am pretty sure it is cheaper than what MAC1 were quoting me to just have the small hump that was in the original bonnet laid up in carbon so not quite as costly if I had gone with this at the start - but as we all know - these car's are forever being worked on and improved!

Steve
