Side mirrors
Can anyone recommend or suggest some reasonably priced side mirrors that when fitted to a book chassis with MK scuttle will meet SVA field of view
requirements?
Even if I have to adjust them to a daft position for the test. No windscreen planned.
I've seen cheap ones with a sort of rubber bellows arrangement, but can't tell if they'll do without buying and fitting them first.

There is a motorcycle accessory wharehouse just opened on our industrial estate. I asked about bike mirrors (OE spec patern), the guy working there
said that one of his major suppliers is starting a new line in 'sports car' mirrors, the catalogue will be out in about a week - watch

Thanks Mark, please let me know if you get any more info.
Perhaps I need to rephrase the question.
How about:
Has anyone passed the SVA test without a windscreen fitted. If so what side mirrors did you use?

I bought a pair of kawasaki zxr400 mirrors fro Hein Gerike in Northampton. I have seen them used on other cars but am a bit concerned that the field
of view is a bit small. They Had some GSXR1200 mirrors wich look like the ones illustrated, but had only righthand side ones in stock so i settled with
the kawasaki ones.

Not sure of the adress but they are near to argoson the small retail park going out of the town towards carlsberg.I found them in the yellow pages.
I recently found a large bike dealers on the riverside retail park who would almost certainly have a good selection of mirrors. I think the thing to
do is go and have a look and see what takes your fancy.

I bought a pair of Tiger side mirrors recently. And much to my delight they are very good for the £15 each I paid. Plating is first class. Should be
SVA friendly as Tiger supply them as standard, might be worth checking when ordering. If anyone wants a pic I can post one.

Any one tried fitting the mirrors with the indicators in ? would this negate the need for a side repeater as well??

I bought a pair of kawasaki zxr400
Mine passed with those on. Over 3 years ago now, there are bike mirrors with integrated indicators but I don't think they stick out far enough
for car use, more moulded into the fairing. There are some JCBs out now with the indicator housed in the headlight cowling.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Wouldn't pass the sva though You need rearward and forward vision angles for the repeaters. I used a really cheap pair of compliant mirrors from
Lolocost (about £18 /pair) Had to juggle them to get the sight line over the wing but they passed still crap rear vision though, huge blind spot as
someone pull out to overtake you!
The real problem is when you use a full harness you need a neck like an owl that swivels around thru 180 as you can't look over your shoulder.

Shame about the blackbird mirrors, they look good, will have to investigate more me thinks, spose they'd still look the biz even if side
repeaters had to be fitted as well
cheers guys, plenty to think about

Alan_thomas,
The trick with the blind spot is not to get overtaken!
I may well opt for some cheap complkiant mirrors for sva, then change to some nicer ones at a later date.
Ned.

My mate has a Blackbird and I wanted the mirrors too. On his bike forum they're going for £250 a pair!!! Soon went off that idea!
Maybe you can get replicas?
Wonder if it's because you can't drop a bike and not knacker the wing mirrors?!
