Any of you knowledgeable bods know the SVA reg on filler caps (really must buy a book now I'm getting close )
Anyway, do they have to be flush, or can you use one of the nice curvy old fahioned ones as used on cobras and the like ?
Same rules as for any other body part re radius etc, suspect you will stuggle with larger fancy job. Why not fit something basic at first and then "modify" after the test.
Has to be flush fitting, old fashioned ones cant be used IIRC, or you could hide a lockable cap inside the boot.
i thought that the cap couldnt be in the boot, to avoid fume buildup? just a vague memory!
Put it in the boot with a lock on the lid and you don't need a locking cap. It's easier and you don't have to cut any panels. You could
try the Lumby stainless steel dogbowl recessed into the rear panel trick. It worked for him.
yours, Pete.
Ok thanks chaps..I'll fit a flushy I think. My tank is too high to fit a cap under the rear lid...as per
Rescued attachment Tank-sz.JPG
Reading the mighty manual, it specifies that in addition to the normal radiuses and so on "...fuel tank filler caps do not project from the
external surface more that (A) 50mm where they cannot under any circumstances project beyond the extreme outer edge of the vehicle (B) 40mm in all
other cases"
Interpret that as you please. Surfice to say, I think cobra pass with aston caps without many problems. Regardless, I think a big flashy projecting
fuel cap on a 7 would look pretty daft, but that's just personal opinion.

Any build up in my boot would be on the floor underneath it. Petrol fumes are heavier than air, can't see it being a problem if your boot
isn't airtight.
